Worth a bet, good long shotRayner for the Normie
You realise Spargo played much better than Rayner against Carlton in the finals yeah?
Now lets look back at the 2017 AFL Draft.
Guys that have done more than Rayner in their careers to date:
Brayshaw
LDU
Cerra
Naughton
Fritsch
Tom De Koning
Zac Bailey
Ed Richards
Starcevich
Petty
Nathan Murphy
Liam Baker
Mihocek
Fogarty
Sam Reid
Amartey
Powell
Oscar Allen
Noah Balta
Tim Kelly
Liam Ryan
Dylan Moore
Switkowski
Brent Daniels
Sam Taylor
Gryan Miers
Worpel
Liam Baker
Tom McCartin
So Rayner comes in at 30 in his draft And that doesn't include Roarke Smith, Nick Holman who has done just as much.
If he kicks 8 in a granny, I'll bump him up significantly.

A good analogy would be Harris Andrews, look at his impact on the game vs the stats sheet
Rayner's tackle on Cerra in the second quarter was pretty great. Very happy he's in our side as we head to a GF.
The best 9 possession game in the history of footy dan.Firstly, congrats on making the granny
Secondly, Rayner = SPUD! Worst on Ground. LOL
As per usual. 2 kicks, 0 goals, 0 influence on the game. He'll never break out. 30th best in the draft.
Another typical reaction from Brisbane fans. Focus on his once a year performances but surprisingly no posts here when he performs his usual pathetic performances. End Thread. 8 Goals now required in the Granny to make up the lost ground.
Even though Harris Andrews job is to stop his opponent from getting the ball and Rayners job is to get the ball.A good analogy would be Harris Andrews, look at his impact on the game vs the stats sheet
I said about 5 posts up that he wasn’t brilliant, last night. I was making the point in general that stats don’t paint the full pictureEven though Harris Andrews job is to stop his opponent from getting the ball and Rayners job is to get the ball.
Just admit it. You guys got it wrong. At least I had the decency to acknowledge when he played a good game last week. But if you're not going to acknowledge that a 9 possession, 0 goal, 0 inside 50's, 56% disposal efficiency and 0 effective kicks game is horrendous then you're too proud to admit defeat.
wasn't brilliant isn't saying he was pathetic or poor. Your minimising how poor he was by saying 'not brilliant'. he had 0 effective kicks mate. Zero. It's like if I said like week he 'wasn't bad'.I said about 5 posts up that he wasn’t brilliant, last night. I was making the point in general that stats don’t paint the full picture
Well held by McGovern, luckily our game plan relies on multiple contributors so more importantly we got the win. Lucky he has a chance for redemption next week on the biggest stage of all, Tom Boyd style. Don’t really care honestly, take this as a win if you like, great night of footy at the GABBA and we’re going to the big danceFirstly, congrats on making the granny

I’m never going to describe one of my own players as pathetic on the night we’ve made our first GF in 20 years. But yeah he was poor last night. And he can be inconsistent. But he steps up when we need him more and more. And he stuck around when we were bottom 4 when half the fan base didn’t even want to draft him because they thought he’d be straight home.wasn't brilliant isn't saying he was pathetic or poor. I'm not sure why my previous comment praising Bayley Fritsch was quoted.Firstly, congrats on making the granny

Why can't you just shit on all things Hawthorn like most Geelong posters?9 disposals & 0 goals tonight.
A game goes for 2 hours. It is fair to assume that at some point in this 2 hours that every player does something positive. It's almost impossible not to. Hell even a vfl player or vfl reserves player or even a under 18's player could come in and do something positive in 2 hours so mentioning 1 or 2 bumps that Rayner did is nothing short of embarassing. He had 0 effective kicks. Any compliments from Fagan would've been simply to try and keep his confidence high for thr granny much like Chris Scott always spoke up Gary Rohan before his 3 possession finals.I'm not sure why my previous comment praising Bayley Fritsch was quoted.
However, focusing on Rayner, whilst his performance last night might not have been good in terms of raw statistics, you can't knock his influence in shaping the game in Brisbane's favour. He showcased moments of excellence, especially during the 2nd and 3rd quarters, that impacted the state of contest. His two-way inside midfield work, from applying pressure and setting screens to using his physicality (notably that hit on Cerra in the centre square) and extracting to advantage, epitomised team-first football. Not near his best, but played his role. The coaching staff would assess his performance as satisfactory.
Many, including myself, saw Kiddy Coleman as BoG. Yet, Andrews and Neale also had standout performances for the Lions. If we solely rely on statistics, their contributions might seem minimal, but their on-field presence was undeniable.
Drawing a parallel, Ben Cousins's 2006 Grand Final performance wasn't statistically memorable. However, his impact, especially in the final quarter, was pivotal. Without his signature hard running and tenacity, Sydney would have run over the top of West Coast.
Unless you're assessing stats under a qualitative lens, you've no place using them to support your anti-Rayner rhetoric.
Why can't you just s**t on all things Hawthorn like most Geelong posters?

My headcannon is that Rayner shagged Old Mate's missus.Wow, it’s quite personal in this thread.
You rank Rayner where in his draft? top 30? top 25? Top 20?You don't watch footy, do you danster.

Did you just have a quiet weekend this week Danny? You've provided a lot of great analysis in this thread over the past 48hrs, I'm surprised you've had time to get all your thoughts together. Keep it up Danny, big week ahead!
I thought he was good. Much better than the stats sheet suggested. It's pretty scary how good Brisbane could be if he becomes consistent.

Rayner given a D grade. Wake up people. Game, set, match. Anyone defending his game as being anything other than extremely poor have their blinkers on.
'No discernible influence on the game'. But but, I saw him lay at tackle. lol
End thread.
