Just head the Cam Smith is facing a 2 match ban for the grapple tackle. The carry over points do him no good.

No word on if the Storm will challenge the decision but they would i believe.

What does this do for our premiership hopes??

BTW Jeremy Smith has also been been offered a 1 match ban.

I heard they charged him for making a grapple tackle. If this is the exact charge wording they have left some wriggle room. They will need to define grapple tackle as the main offence here was more interfering with the head, not the way a grapple tackle is usually conducted. Will have to find out whether head high contact or misconduct is part of the charge as that is easier to pin on him.

I like Smith, and though I am a Sharks supporter, am happy for the Storm to win the GF if they get over us on the weekend.

In a sense I am happy for him to be out because it increases our chances but don't really want Manly to win.

Warriors and Sharks I am hoping for.

Okay so the charge is unnecessary contact with the head or neck. I don't see how on earth they can get him off that. Pointing to others that were missed does not exonerate him and none had the same set of circumstances.

Who is the Storm's backup hooker and who will take half the kicking duties?

I don't think there is a judiciary charge for grapple tackle, i thought it was a media term to describe this tactic of slowing the play the ball by having the arm around the neck. The judiciary uses very technical words.

Two weeks is good, but they should put him in the ring with Brett the "hitman" Heart for an hour to teach him a lesson or two, and no, I don't mean teaching him more wrestling moves ;)

all the kids prefer MMA these days. So he'll have to learn the triangle choke.

Matt Geyer could do both.

I'm thinking the mandible claw. If they can each have an El Socko in their jock just in case, all the better.

The grapple tackle is a little lame however, if they just grab the head and drop to the ground, they have a stone cold stunner.

If Smith runs from in goal to in goal before returning to a player on the ground and dropping the people's elbow, then I think I may just give up on the game.

it was probably the most ungrapple of all the grapple tackles for the night....barely got hold of the blokes chin and the massive head throw back made it look good - such little holding on a 110kg+ bloke and it looked like he was tossed like a rag doll....i'll go for an appeal reduced to 1 week just to keep the 'head in the sand' bunch happy.

If they are going to use that as a standard for a grapple tackles then there is going to be some very busy tribunal nights going next year. If anything it should have been a rough play charge.

He was charged for unneccasary contact to the head or neck, not specifically a grapple tackle

Typical Anti Melbourne Storm decision from the w***ers up in Sydney.
They are just proving they are so desperate and jelous of the Storm, they will try anything to derail them.
There was noting overly untoward in the tackle, and the Storm need to fight it. There were worse incidents in Brisbanes game last weekend that were let go.
If the Brisbane players were not standing up and sooking every other time, this would not be in issue. How about charging the Broncos and Thaiday for being whinging sooks.
