I'm sure Miles can rest forward if necessary.

I reckon that's why Miles went out of the team. 2016 was not his best year. He mostly played that high HF / first rotation into the middle, and it did not flatter him.

Full credit to him. The coaches were obviously pretty clear on what he needed to work on - uncontested marks, goals, inside 50s. His been doing his usual grunt work in the VFL AND adding those high HF elements to his game.

Right now, I'd take him over Prestia, who needs to impress in the VFL before he gets back into the (imaginary) Richmond team that I select.

And I don't think both can play in the same team, unless one grows a foot taller.

Or put another way, while Lambert is in the 22, we can't afford another two small, defensive inside mids as well, unless they can take contested marks.

A lack of accountability is why Miles missed out early on, with Miles now having greater accountability there is no reason why both can't be part of the side in finals. Our gameplan is built around pressure and accountability which starts in the middle and then spreads aroumd the ground. It's not just about tackle numbers either, its the pressure acts and the constant harassment of opposition players that leads to turnovers and us getting the ball back and that also helps our back line be so effective to as we're not allowing easy ball in.

Watch just about any game this year except Adelaide and Saints and watch when the opposition has the ball. You'll often see 2-3 players rushing at a player putting them under pressure and forcing the quick kick or handball which leads to poor disposal and turnovers.

yes, both can play and should play. Miles becomes the in and under ball winner, Prestia can tag and Dusty and Cotch can just focus on getting disposals. Caddy is in danger though as he is very ordinary at the moment. I'd play Cellis in Caddy's role next week as he can kick a goal from 30 out directly in front - and gets it as much as Caddy as well.

Caddy was mediocre on Saturday and has been for about a month.
Plenty of noise about him being our second marking option up forward - he's taken 13 of them in the last four games, most of them in general play.

He's not being tasked to take marks. He's there to provide a contest, which he does. He plays a very sacrificial role. Our smalls do the rest.

I would rather see Grigg played through the centre of the ground that Miles. Quite similar stats when played in the middle but has a much higher work rate. If they continue to play Grigg on a wing, I'd rather Menadue and then Miles and Prestia through the middle. Can't play all three because we still need speed. Grigg is a terrible wingman. In the long run Corey Ellis needs to play due to his ball use, not sure if he can take anyone's place right now.
