but just what is the counterfactual? How was JT suppose to play this. He is banking on reputation and re-election... he still has significant electoral capital that will only be extinguished at the ballot booth. He has only been playing by the social norms that have been set over this last half dozen years. He is neither raving racist nor messiah posturing, society got the POTUS[sic] it deserved. Indeed it is absurd chief, west needs to interrogate itself and statesman (or Golda/Thatcher) need to lead, not the DanAndrews/JArdern version. And Fairfax should stop attempting to influence.
