Captains Captains Thread

I'm going to aswell, Warnie on Twitter raised a quality point.

You'd imagine almost everyone has Titch or Zerrett as their captain. Whilst realistic if you were to take the punt on them scoring 140 it would still be over most weeks captains score which is definitely a risk on hoping for them to them to even get that. If they were to get that you'd only be looking at an extra 15 points to your final score anyways. I know people will say you get to double that difference but if you've got them both it doesn't really work like that.

If Merret or Titch were your captain and scored 140 you'd get

140x2 + 125 = 405
140 + 125x2 = 390
405 - 390 = 15

With out trying to massively over complicate things, if you have both you're not even going to have a huge extra reward despite taking a decent risk. Good on anyone for taking the punt but I'll play it safe.

That logic can also be reversed, if Mitchell/Zerrett only get 110 you're only losing 15 points. Now Mitchell lowest score for this year is 115,averages more and only been under Dangers score twice this year, also has a huge ceiling. For those reasons I'm not taking his score, might need some luck but that's what the games about.

I don't see it as risk free either, the flip side is you need to run a line without an emergency. Rucks are normally the safest place to take the risk, having Cox, Archie and Pruess named in the squads means there could be a late withdrawal. Preuss being a popular bench option, could give people a viable emergency option (even if not name could be a late inclusion)

On that basis would you leave it to Titch or Zerrett to get it done?
Titch coming off his 177, against Swans who have been the 3rd hardest to score against in the last 3 weeks
or
Zerrett who scored 152 the last time he played the Tigers
Tough choice.

My choice is easy, I don't have Zerrett haha. To answer your question thou, if I had Zerrett, I'd still go Titch.

Swans still give up good numbers, Rocky got a 165 a few weeks ago, and they're the most comparable players. I think that stat about being hard to score against is skewed a bit by playing North (not many fantasy relevant players) and the Saints not showing up (although a few still got amongst it)

Good points, thanks.
Titch might be a goer, because worst case he gets 110 and I match my league opponents captain score.

Really didn't think of that, a good shout mate. Hard to go wrong either way I think.

Still think i'll play it safe and take the score I've got sitting infront of me from Danger.

Taking Danger's score.

If I owned Tich' I would definitely be putting the C on him. He averages 130+ and can go huge. You gotta do it.
I'm a little worried the bit of negativity over his "lack of impact and meters gained" may play on his head a bit, some players change their game when playing a former club too.

Or am I just overthinking?

Hopefully he doesn't overthink it as much as you :)

He will be out to pump Sydney and show Longmire what a moron he was for trading him.

Treloar got stuck into Titch about useless posessions (physically mocking him with rushed handball motions)
Didn't seem to stop Mitchell reaching 50 disposals so unless he went and cried behind closed doors, it seems he's pretty thick skinned and mature enough to cop a bit. (which he may do tonight)

That said, no one can play their best if constantly battered. If Franklin lines him up for a bump etc.

I don't know mate! I just look at the numbers. I actually think Titch' is a great asset to his team; they need someone to feed it out to the runners.

I think he'll put in a huge game against his old side. Horse kept dropping him so maybe he has a point to prove?
