Career best games for the club.....

Great win, that 3rd quarter was amazing, but the performance of the "lesser lights" stood out more then anything.

The following players had career best days for our club;

1. Leigh Brown; made something happen every time we needed something to, his 2nd and 3rd efforts were amazing, involved in 10 goals
2. Brad Dick; The hype from the club was right, this little bloke is something special. Was involved in 13 goals and numerous other scores. 25 possessions and 3 goals.
3. Sharrod Wellingham; We crucified him in the pre season final, playing him on Ablett. Today, he gave us clearances, speed, skill and drive. 24 possessions and 2 posters.
4. Alan Toovey; Didnt get beat one on one all night, 17 stats and gave us some drive off half back
5. Shannon Cox; That run through the middle, when he turned 4 port players inside out, was hilarious, great stuff, 21 possessions.

The "lesser lights" were a large reason why we won tonight, notables to Steele Sidebottom, Dane Swan and Jack Anthony.

Great win.

Leroy played like his career was on the line: I guess with 2 ruckmen out there his spot certainly was. Very gutsy.

I love Cox, great young fella with a real footy brain. He knows how to get it and where its going to go next, just the clangers hold him back. Reminds me of a thinner, springier version of Cole. Hope he can polish the turnovers out of his game, he'll be another halfback king for us.

I refuse to add that I love Dick in the same post where I have already confessed that I love Cox...but its true.

One great quarter and and two decent ones, is this a pattern in our wins this year?

Agree on the first 3.

Toovey's played at least 3-4 better games this season, and Cox, whilst good, wasn't as good as the first few weeks.

The first two were very good, Brown and Dick.

Wellingham was good, better in the second half.

Cox and Toovey were good, but so was the whole backline.

I love Cox & Dick, but it was by far Leigh Brown's best game for the club. If he can play like that every week, he'll really give us something.

Me and my mate have always been Dick's biggest fans ever since his debut against richmond in 2007. His attitude to the game is the best

I love Shazza. I love Shazza.

Cox has got incredibe flair!! He side-steps opponents week in week out. I love watching his genuine drive off half-back.



P.S: We already no he is an absolute freak-show, but has swanny played a better game before tonite? He was involved in just about EVERYTHING!!! and i swear i counted him touching the ball 50 times. Bloody champion data

Swan has played at least 10 better games than this one, struggled to hit a target in the first half, however improved immensely in the second half.

I loved it today when Neon Leon hand balled it to Dick and he ran into an open goal and put it through. Leon pissed himself laughing at Dick's celebration. It was classic.
The kid was great today. God it would be great if he could do what he did today on a regular basis.
The guy next to me was also laughing. We were hoping for some miracle goal from Dick so that he maybe does a cart wheel or something.
I like everyone here also thought that Leroy brown finally played a great game for us.
All we need is consistency from them in the future.

very happy to admit that Cox and Leigh Brown were great. Happy for them to hold their spot next week. Both had great impact all day. Brown in particular helped keep us in it during that horrible first half.

Seriously, this might be the only star performance he ever gives, and I want it on a highlight reel!
