Anyone know what type of knee surgery it was?

Even if it's only minor, it's not ideal this close to the start of the season.

Hang on, isn't he on 'fire' on the training track?

Same as last year, a 33 year old body that has taken the pounding he has will not make it through the season without injury.

A bit like Kosi "flying" on the track. hasn't trained in a week with a "minor back complaint". A "minor back complaint" kept him out of footy for almost all of 2002.

Who said the footy season hasn't started?

Joffa

that is terrible news, was not aware of it. 32 year old's you expect it but in a young bloke it is a real pain in the rear. Hopefully they are just being extra careful.

Well lets hope so. He was actual training the house down prior to Xmas, had a slight twinge once he came back, and the word is it is only minor, but with his history of back problems, they cant be too careful.

The word is that he will have to manage his back for his whole career, but this shouldn't be a problem if he has the right programme, after all many many players have to manage certain problems for their whole careers.

Just be aware of players "flying" or "red hot" or whatever in preseason. As we all know flags are won in Sept, not Jan.

Koschitzke sounds a lot like Bowen Lockwood.

Joffa, normally I would agree that it can be managed but backs are probably the hardest area to manage as they cannot be strapped and operations are fraught with danger. The back is also involved in every physical action. I still have trouble with mine despite finishing competitive sport a long time ago.

As for the comments re March champions LOL, eveyr club does it to tey and get members. Will never change.

Back injuries ended the careers of many a player... Guy McKenna, Chris Waterman and Gary Lyon are 2 that come to mind... they were never the same players.

Dermott Brereton as well.

However all four had careers of 8 + season, so Kosi should go OK, hopefully for him and his club.

Add Allen Jakovich to that list. Whatever people thought about him he did have enormous talent and played the fewest games to kick his first 50 goals. (I'm not sure but I think fewest to a hundred as well)
