how can a coach look in the mirror knowing they have supplied experimental drugs to at best unsuspecting players and feel good about themselves.
It is only done to preserve their own career and for the short term success of the club. No regard or thought to long term side effects of their test subjects.
The behaviour is a disgrace it would be a disgrace at any club not just Essendon. the fact that the man was intimately involved in the program makes it even worse.
Hird's reputation outside of the Essendon faithful has been ruined
I maybe wrong as i doubt I've seen all the emails but it seems they only asked about legality not safety.
The coach, the club doctor the very people charged with the welfare of their players should the first to say no to such a thing. Short term success is not worth the damage to a clubs standing. No matter what the on ground success, other clubs/fans with treat you with contempt for years to come.
This is not fair to Essendon supporters they didn't deserve this scandal.
 
James Hird Was my Favourite player outside of the very best of the eagles he was the player I most Admired
Also I liked his media work and thought he would be the perfect fit for Essendon as a coach.
All he has done is ruin his reputation with this stupid scandal

You all seem to think that the idea that you or the 'wider football community' don't think we deserve it bothers us.

Winning a flag whilst the mutton bleats how tainted or undeserved it is will be like doing lines of coke off the arse of Victoria's Secret models to us.

Yet you're bleating about essendon winning the flag which is unlikely if there are possibly major sanctions against your club. How do you know that won't happen?

Are you another bright spark that knows whats going to happen or like so many of your Essendon brethren a king sized hypocrite?

I like the stance.

Its not even about if carro is right, if you want to write it then how about naming who told you for a change, she writes so much crap on any topic claiming sources say, what drivvel, who tells her all this stuff?

Good stance from Essendon given hands are tied with what they can say.

If it turns out Hird is in trouble and that comes out of the investigation then by all means go at him, all bets are off, or if you can say Jim Smith from Asada or wherever and give an actual source go for it.

Innocent until proven guilty and unfair to just write stuff like that and good on Essendon supporting their man.

Interesting listening to Robbo on SEN too, this is definitely taking a AW/Fairfax vs SEN/HUN sniff to it. Robbo was at pains to point out the Age didn't run with GW's story "although thats their call"
 
Sounds like Caro may have been off the mark, not for the first time, given Essendon's angry reaction re:Hird. Sometimes Caro can "over-chase" a target even if there is/is not previous truth.

Anyway, time will tell on that one way or the other.
