You would think so. But one of the American series had the final 3 in (I think) Miami where they had you go through an area where Spanish was the main language. The difficulty in finding help from an English speaker almost seemed harder than in some of the countries they had been through.

Anyone else chuckle when all of a sudden Sam started wearing a black robe for modesty after having almost the lot on show during the first half of the leg?

It was actually surprising they weren't told to have a bit more on the whole last two legs. They were racing around in or near sites holy to three religions.

I actually found him (and his son) quite boring for much of the series but they've found their personalities lately and you're right, the father is quite annoying, especially last night.

There isn't a more annoying contestant than the tall 'model', though.
You know, the one who struggles to get through a sentence without making mention of the fact she has a vagina.

The dad is kind of annoying in the same way that my dad is kind of annoying. Deep down I like him though.

And there is NO way that the big model is more annoying than the small model. No freaking way at all.

Shame to see the cowboys go, they were definitely my favourites. Enjoyed the episode, I agree that it was about time there was a challenge that favoured the girls (even if they are annoying).

I think the last few legs have been crying out for a couple of challenges more like that! Besides, these things are plotted out months in advance.

Really liked this episode
- airport strategy
- teams getting split out
- a great change of pace with the sewing task that tested their mental focus just as killer fatigue is setting in
- penalties galore

Good on the girls for making it through - I'm glad there's a bit more variety than 3 teams of alpha males in the final leg!

Non elimination legs are part of the game but putting that challenge in then it was a clear leveller to remove the penalty the girls got for coming last. There is no way at least one of the other teams wouldn't give up the 30 mins to them on that.

No, the clear leveller was the airport followed by opening hours! It's the TAR way! Getting too far apart? Opening hours'll fix that...

Penalties are inconsistent and seem to be made up on a whim. 20 minutes for using a private car, 10 minutes for getting the wrong class train ticket, but 4 hours for running out of arrows earlier in the show? C'mon.

Penalties for challenges are pretty much locked at 4 hours. Penalties for stuffups while travelling are discretionary... although 10 mins did feel a bit short given that the editing implied they might have missed the train if they'd had to go get 3rd class tickets.
