Some very valid points there mate. I'm not taking a stab at the HFC but can you confirm that Cox and McKay are still training at Darley and Marsh? Can certainly understand it in pre season not wanting to travel but i would think by now they would be back training with the Burras. I'm not trying to imply they are going to be leaving the burras i just want to know if the rumour that there still training at those clubs is true?
Fair call, The last thing we want to do is burn these two out by traveling up the highway all the time. They certainly rewarded us for that in last years Grand Final. You wouldn't have even have asked it if it was two average footballers in question. This sort of thing happens all over Victoria doesn't it? Honesty with players goes a long way, and we are happy to let them train at home if they need a night off from traveling. The last time i saw Coxy and Andy was about half an hour ago driving out of the HFC carpark. They were the last two to leave, both busy practicing their goal kicking. And i might add since they have both joined us, they hardly miss a training session once the season starts. We have to tell them to back off a bit...

Sounds like a Terry Wallace press conference

Come on, seriously?

Hey Timmy didn't you say that all of your 2008 list had signed on for 2009 before last years grand final. Whats going on with Newton Abbott Uhi and Walsh? Did they use invisible ink when they signed?

"Remember mate, if you want to bag us, make sure you deal in the facts.."

Well here's a couple of facts Timmy..

Not all the senior list were as committed as you promised, gone!!..Newton..Abbott..Hughes..Walsh..Uhi..Layfield (?)..and more 2nds players.

Hepburn have approached fringe players at local clubs promising them a game as they are struggling for numbers in the two's.

The original point still stands. Hepburn through hard work and nous have raised truck loads of money over the past few years. (the big fella as the main benefactor is just a smokescreen so other clubs don't follow the same formula).

It's this money, not any Robbo magic, that is the basis of your success. Send Robbo out to any other club with a limited budget and he would be just another try hard who watched too many Friday night replays and AFL DVD's.

Thats a fact !

Welcome to the site uncle. From what i gather from your first two posts you are another Daylesford supporter, jealous of Hepburns success. Making up untruths and bagging their football club. Get over it. As for Shane Robertson. Ninety nine per cent of clubs would have him in an instant. Certainly in top 5 coaches in country Victoria. But dont worry, Daylesford will never have him. You still owe him thousands from years ago.

First Merrigan, it may have been invisible ink we used. Our players get poached like all others. Even though they ( except for Hughes) had signed contracts for 09, they had valid reasons for wanting to go. So we let them go. Not many clubs would be that understanding.
Secondly unclerobert, i notice that you couldnt name your 5 or 6 b&f or runner up winners. There is no need to exagerate to try and make your statement sound better. Layfield is playing, where did you get that one from?
We havn't approached fringe players promising them games. ( and im talking about the recruiting team) just to make up the numbers. Thats for other clubs to do.
Sure we have money, so what, how about the rest of you catch up instead of always whinging about it.
Daylesford had no money when Robbo went there and took them from the bottom to several finals campaigns and nearly a Grand Final.
Castlemaine had bugger all money, yet he still took them to a losing Grand Final, then the Premiership the following year.
Yeah he is just another try hard, except for the fact that he actually HAS been good enough to play in the MIGHTY CARLTON SIDES OF THE 1980s and taste Premiership succes at the highest level. Bit of respect mate, when he finally leaves the CHFL will be a lot worse off without his proffesionalism.

Are you serious about Uhi leaving? Animal can you confirm this? Massive news if this is correct!

Timmy sad.. sad.. Timmy (aka Jocks or Robbo)

Don't hide behind "and im talking about the recruiting team" I was there when Burra people approached my nephew and mates.

Tim/Shane/Jason read the post.. I said having lots of money was a good thing..other clubs should learn!!

I will do further research but N. Walsh's 'RELO'S" think he was at least an under 18s B&F or R/UP. (he was a CHFL B&F at one stage)

Timmy (jocks/shane) These are your words

Daylesford had no money when Robbo went there and took them from the bottom to several finals campaigns and nearly a Grand Final.
Castlemaine had bugger all money, yet he still took them to a losing Grand Final. (a major major major sponsor then came on at C'Maine and they got the players needed to win a flag. U/ROB )

The common theme no money no flags.. I WIN.

The people I have talked to at Castlemaine and D'Ford say ROBBO spent what money they had UNWISELY.

This is a sample of some of the people who have played in in the VFL/AFL

Fed Cook/John Nichols/Wayne Carey/Jim Krakouer/Wayne Johnson/Gary Ablett Snr/Ben Cousins/Lawrence Angwin/Jim Buckley ... just because you played VFL/ CFC does not mean you are gods gift to football!!

From what i'm told ROBBO had the respect of all his team-mates and opponents. This does not make him a god or SUPERCOACH.

Back to 1st point Robbo + $$$$$..may.. = flag No $$$$ who knows!!!

Can you seriously argue with a flag? Maybe the youth are missing out but that is happening at other clubs also, such as learmonth BUT they are both favourites for this year....so maybe they actually do know what they are doing, and these younger guys arent ready yet?
I think this is all about jealousy of Cowan's success across the road, maybe he is just better ???
OMG, cant believe i just defended hepburn

I heard Hepburn Football Club ran a very successful trivia night on Saturday night and raised over $10,000 with every cent going to the local CFA.However their neighbours up the road apparently also ran a raffle over the week with all proceeds to go to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal this is what what advertised on an a-frame in the main street. I wonder if anyone cared to read the fine print at the bottom of the board which read half the profits would be supporting the Daylesford Football Netball Club ?? Surely they are not misleading the public with raffles again ??

Surely not another reference to the dodgy raffle which was over 10 years ago! Let go FFS!

If you read the fine print, obviously there is no misleading going on now is there!

Why have it in fine print then? Obviously to mislead people into thinking they are supporting a bushfire appeal ONLY rather than 1/2 the money going to the football club. Very very ordinary if this is true.

Tell me what Burra people approached your nephew and mates? Nick won the Two's B&F last year, and he won the CHFL u/15s B&F, thats way back in 2003. Where are the other 5 you were going to name? Castlemaine had bugger all money compared to the more powerful Bendigo teams.
We all know Daylesford had none.
Robbo wasn't as good as those blokes, mentioned, except for Cook & Angwin, and he'd happily admit that.. Stupid comment of yours.. he hasn't been in trouble with the law.... i think you have a lot of Jealousy there for Robbo... I have no idea wether you have met the bloke or not.. but everyone who has spent a reasonable amount of time with him will agree, he knows his football. never said he is a god or Supercoach, but he is a bloody good coach.
To win a flag in the CHFL you need $$$$ , no question. the hard part is maintaining the $$$$ to keep winning on a regular basis. An example is Newlyn were Premiers in 2003. The money dried up and they havn't recovered yet. Maybe this year, they have saved a few pennies, got Phil on board and a few recruits. Time will tell.

Just reading about Daylesford's raffle, no way , they couldn't mislead the public twice . Especially when everone is trying to help the fire victims. Axel Foley your comments sound like this is true?

That was a stupid example mate, in fact i feel dumber for reading it.

I'm not a Hepburn supporter nor am i a Robbo preacher. HOWEVER in my opinion he knows what his doing, you can pick through his record as much as you like mate but he can coach.

How many senior premierships have you coached? Clubs like Hepburn arent going to throw out all that money on players and get a pathetic coach. Thats what Bunningyong do.

Are you serious about Uhi leaving? Animal can you confirm this? Massive news if this is correct!

I'm lead to believe his on a 2 yr contract however nowadays contracts are easier to break then arnotts biscuits. He doesnt live there nor work there so i'd say his got probable clause to leave.
But i cant confirm nor deny it.

I hope so, for my clubs sake.

If this is true about Daylesford, then that is nothing but an absolute disgrace. To use someone elses misery for your own profits. Makes you wonder if Kinglake/Marysville and surrounding towns have even recieved anything. I doubt it. Hang your heads in shame Daylesford. You have stooped to a new low...... And Hepburn raised over 10 grand at just a trivia night. If that is true then well done........ NOW THERE IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THOSE TWO CLUBS. Congratulations Hepburn. I may never barrack for you, but i will allways respect you.

You say you don't know if its true or not, yet you call Daylesford a disgrace. Lets all jump to conclusions.

Nice to log in and read some competitive info. L'mth, D'town, B'fort, N'lyn etc doing good over the break and my ears tell me b'yong the big movers. Not so much... the crap that continues about Hepburn. Grow up people... catch up or **** off. Why continue on Robbo? Scores on the board! Your obviously a 'past' player (or parent) or maybe a player that wishes he could've been...that couldn't deal with the discipline, commitment, loyalty and desire required to be successful....commonly called a LOSER. Get to know the bloke idiot before dribbling. As for $$$$ when he took over....D'ford ~ bottom, no money....bugger me....successful in 2 years / C'maine ~ gone under previous coach, no money....yep...premiership in 2 years / H'burn ~ on the ropes....yep...premiership in 1 year. It might be something he has that you don't have loser that keeps you frightened of 'what's next'. Move on...do you think he cares what 'you' think....your probably just another 'waste of time' to him. I'll let him know anyway of your regards....others did that last year and surprise....built a side to 'another premiership'....'you' may have missed out! Look out for the burras '09! GET BACK TO OTHER INTERESTS....NICE TO CATCH UP WITH OTHER CLUBS INFO.

You say you don't know if its true or not, yet you call Daylesford a disgrace. Lets all jump to conclusions.
To be quite honest, i heard about it on the weekend but dismissed it as just beer talk. After all, Daylesford couldnt be that stupid, insesitive, callous, rude, or just plain dumb, could they? Well aparantly they have. Everyone talking about it in Ballarat and one fella i know said he saw it with his own eyes. Unfortunately i never did, so i cant confirm 100 per cent. Your previous post sounded like a guilty plea though.

I have been reading your garbage for quite awhile now on this and i can see one thing, you are an absolute D**k. You talk about everyone else being hepburn haters and newlyn haters, get your head out of your ars* and smell the roses. All you have done is bag Daylesford on this forum and tell lies. Get your facts right on a few issues. Daylesford did have a raffle and as they said they were going to donate half of their money to the bushfire appeal, we did stick to our word. No one told any lies there. Daylesford did struggle after robbo left because they had no money, but that was not his fault, the committe should of had a bit of brains about them and not tried to spend what they didn't have. Hepburn do have the money and good luck to them and robbo with how they spend it, as it is no one else's business and i am pretty confident that if other clubs have had their results over the past five years they too would be happy. To the clubs credit we have nearly gone under twice but i can tell you one thing that we are going along very nicely now and have a strong future ahead of us. We have a proud club and people around the club have a team they can call their own, which nearly wasn''t the case a few years back. I would be pretty sure you couldn't do the same. Do you get my drift. So hopefully that puts the robbo thing to bed. Now if you do not have anything to say about the upcoming season and all you want to do is pay out on daylesford and how big of pricks we are and how bad we are and what ever else you think about us, how about you go and get a life you idiot.
My tips for the upcoming year
Top 6 - Same five as last year and Beaufort and Bungaree pushing to be the sixth team.
Learmonth to be the pace setters with the other clubs all pushing hard behind them.
Hepburn will be once again a powerhuse, but Uhi will be a massive loss to fill.
Daylesford will be a totally different team with plenty of new young kids coming through and also big experienced players arriving.
Waubra, no idea but always tough
Buninyong will take another step forward. Premierships are built over three years but who knows this year with them.
Beaufort are the dark horse and if they have recruited well will cause some massive upsets.
And bungaree are talked up every year and have always dissapointed but james brick is a gun and will be one of the best midfielders in the league. As will justin Rumble, can win a match off of his own boot.
Coxy to win the goal kicking and no idea on the league B&F
Hopefully this gets everyone back onto talking footy and not bagging each others teams because it makes the league and its clubs look like bickering fools.

You make me sick mate. Are you Robbo's boyfriend?? Maybe you 2 should get married.
Good on ya for pumping up the burra's tyres before they even play round one.

What is Waubra shaping up like this year? Apparently lost a few from what i've heard, most notably Liston but have they gained much?? Key Losses/Recruits??

A lot of talk of Beaufort being big improvers too, who exactly have they picked up? To what degree have Newlyn recruited as well?

Have any sides played practice matches yet and if so how did they go, both scoreboard-wise and in general play?

OK Crusader. 1, i havnt told any lies and 2, your Daylesford mates are the foul mouthed ones who continually get on here and bag out Hepburns coach, president and others, topped off by your premiership coach now at Newlyn. So if you want to be the great crusader, clean up your own mates first. Also, on the raffle. come on. Does anyone read the whole board when buying a raffle ticket? No. Especially when it is for the bushfire victims. Daylesford simply saw a quick way to make a buck out of someone elses tragedy. Do the right thing, and give all the money to the victims.

Top 3: Hepburn, Daylesford, Waubra. (Still a class above the rest)

Next 3: Learmonth, Dunnstown, Buninyong. (Making up the numbers in 6)

Next 4: Bungaree, Beaufort, Ballan, Newlyn. (Miles away)

Bottom 4: Clunes, Creswick, Springbank, Gordon. (Will struggle)

Brown for the goalkicking, Adams for the B&F - polls votes because of who he is not how well he plays, Hepburn for premiers. (Is Uhi going or staying???)

Rumble definately 1 to watch, Brick coming off a poor year at the bottom team in the BFL - not convinced.

KEVIN BRUCE is right. Daylesford should give all the proceeds of their stealth fundraiser to the bushfire appeal.
