Hepburn has signed star Darley and inter-league footballer Lee Cox. Very mobile CHF/CHB.. Only young but has a great pair of hands.. MAssive signing for them.

In my opinion, at this point of the season, Hepburn are definately the ones to beat. Lee Cox is a huge signing. Saw him play a few years back when he was only young, and he was super quick and a great mark. Also have signed a lot from out of town again. Hepburn have lost a few, but there gains by far outweigh there losses. Hepburn are looking the goods.

[The rumour was the guys resposible for cleaning up after grand final have made a big push to have grand final relocated to Gordon, due to the fact it would be easier to clean up, something about sweeping rubbish from the grand stand side to the outer wing, apparently its a lot more efficient to sweep rubbish down hill.
Looks like it will be knocked back, apparently it clashes with the Gordon boys footy trip to Vegas they have booked.[/quote]

Had a frothie with Joey Gilbert the other night, and he will play this season and will be as hard at it as ever. Just stepping back from the coaching for personal reasons, no dramas at the club or anything like that.

Grand Final at Gordon would be good, forgetting the ordinary surface, the small ground, surrounded by the trees would be good atmosphere.....and the bar would be well stocked! Whisper is 24 Gordon players have already signed for the footy trip to Vegas......only 16 have signed to play senior footy though.

Natte spoke with Coony and i know for a fact he was wanting $250 + incentives minimum which we couldn't offer due to the sort of player he is and our limited budget. As for Hilly he wouldn't be on anything near $350. Once again Natte spoke with Hilly last year and roumer was if we couldn't offer him above $500 then we shouldn't bother... Also due to finacial restraints we didn't make him an offer.

Who does Natte spend its $40000 per year budget on then Don't Argue?

Tud - I notice on the clearance list that Gordon have signed Steve McCulloch from Lakers. Big signing if you can pull that one off?

Yeah, Steve's brother Chopper played for the Eagles a few years back, so he is known around the club and looking good on the track.

You would've played with Chopper at some stage of your career wouldnt you Velvet?

Anyone involved in the lexton plains know natte doesn't through the cash out. The figures and its a lot closer to $30,000 inc coach and incentives which is a very good amount to be spending considering our tough geographic location making recruiting difficult, making the playing list that we have managed to sercure even more impressive.

Whats Avoca spending this year wonker, i'm sure a lot more then us...

Last time i checked this was a Central Highlands thread. Not a Lexton Plains thread.

Sad but most probably true!

Learmonth have just received a $70k grant to put a fence around its ground to try and enhance the CHFL grand final back. Would be a better option then the Northern oval, as I dont think I have seen a decent game at that ground and never any atmosphere.
Bigger crowds, yes, but im sure if the CHFL put on buses for people to travel out, and without people being able to get in for free, the gate would be pretty similar.
Laearmonth is the home of Central Highlands and thats where the GF should be played.
There should also be a 1/2 time sprint, or super Kick contest, the league needs to get with the times and start marketing different activities to attract people.

As with Joey Gilbert, he has stated personell reasons, and I have heard my fair bit of rumors, but will not elaborate, as it has nothing to do with footy, and should be left alone.

Home of the chfl a. How do you work that out mate. Great ground yes and any club would be happy to call their home ground but fact is more people will go to north because they can get full of soup and not worry about how they get home. No need to worry about crap like 1/2 time sprints to attract people they go to north anyway and the kids can have a kick on the ground at half time. I think you might be the one who should get with the times, grannys have never been better since they went to nth. Learmonth no more home to chfl than dunnstown Springbank Bunga or any other ground for that matter. Where would you play it if your mob made the final?

I have played on both grounds in Grand Finals and they are both great grounds to play on. I do prefer the Granny at North however as it is a completly neutral ground for all sides. Learmonth is good, but if a Learmonth side makes the granny then they have a distinct advantage there.

The rooms are another factor. Learmonth Visitors rooms arnt great as opposed to the North rooms where sides can do a complete warmup including ball work in the rooms prior to the game.

I think being able to play on an oval like north is something a lot of players dont get the opportunity to do (especially juniors) which is another tick in North's box.

Another option is for the grand final to be moved to the Eastern oval. I have played on that ground also and it is fantastic to play on.

alright enough of the grounds bear. What we all wanna know is will Stuey Miller crack it for a game in the ones this year? will Ludders have the two's firing on all cylinders? And where can I book my ticket on the Las Vegas footy trip?

word has is shane robbo put the hard word on a few hepburn 18-22 yr olds after a big speed splurge over the pre season, no use having big coin signings like lee cox if the scarely existant local talent isnt taking things seriously

In refrence to the untruths appearing on this website, the C.F.N.C. would ask all users to source facts before making statments. In reference to the 2006 senior coach Eamon Johnson,Eamon was always 100% supported by the president and board for the entire 06 season. In reference to "backstabbing" I could not count the times I defended his position to people outside our club after heavy losses. As for clearences, what club clears thier core group of senior players on the first applications? The C.F.N.C. had to push Lake Wendouree to the V.C.F.L. appeals board last year to gain the services of Les Hughes, so we know the other side of the coin as well. As for myself as club president, "unprofessional, uneducated and not supportive". I find that to be an almost laughable comment considering some of the postings I have read on this site.It is border line slander. The old saying goes "FACT BEFORE FICTION". Time to grow up boys and concentrate on the real issues. Anyone interested in the facts can contact me personally on 0418501243, Jarrod New, President Creswick Football Netball Club

Your honesty is admirable but I think you are opening yourself up a bit much here mate!

Great post Jarrod. I have watched the content of this thread deteriorate over the last 6 or so months with more and more personal attacks and a hell of a lot of them seem to come from learmonth. He constantly tells us how professional he is yet spends a lot of time hurling insults at players and officials from other clubs. If that is professional conduct from a senior coach I would hate to see what his idea of unprofessional is. I find it astonishing that the committee at the Learmonth football club have not put a stop to his rubbish on here a long time ago. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow and it shouldn't surprise anyone if his incessant mud throwing comes back to bite him.
Jarrod, take solace in the fact that at least you have 1 CHFL flag hanging in your clubrooms. 1 more than Learmonth. No doubt I will be the next one to cop a spray of insults from the 'professional' Learmonth coach.

Just wondering if Gordon played their full strength side on the weekend or whether they had key players out, Didn't have to many big blokes, Ruckman was handy and there was a couple of young wingman/flanker types who will be very good players also.
Went down to Old Westbourne by about 6 goals in the end.

If you wish to utilise the 'report post' function when you see something that seems out of bounds, you may be able to manage your astonishment level better! ;)

A reminder to all who post here that you are to play the ball and not the man. Do not make attacks on the character of players or even other users on this forum. When it comes to allegations, I apply a 'prove or remove' principle.

Play on ...

Disco Stu played ones in the practice match on saturday and kicked 2 from a forward pocket. His direct opponant that played on him was last seen hanging up the boots on a hook in the chance rooms vowing never to play football again.

The 2nds got a bit of a touch up but were very undermanned with 6-8 of the better seconds players unavailable to play.

How did the reigning premiers go in their practice match on the weekend, and more importantly how did the bigman/kankles/Ro Brown go at his new club?

Heard from a friend of his that the coach told him he was in the best four on the ground, big things must now be expected of the BIG SHOW!

Can anyone confirm, if he still dry reaches before he runs out to play?

As stated Learmonth play Kerang this weekend at Kerang followed by a footy camp next week from Fri-Sunday. Have massive numbers at the club at the moment with 56 on the track last night and 74 Registered for season 2007. At this current stage no massive signings, but ar still in negotiations with a few players.

How did learmonth go on the wknd? Any truth that Veldhuis has a grade three heartstring and won't be seen until mid way of the season?

LEARMONTH, you have been a bit quiet this week. how did your match go on the weekend? Not as much to boast about as you hoped?

I heard they went down by 5 goals. Kerang had most of there darwin recruits not playing while learmonth had about 10-12 senior players out. All in all it was a good hit out for them my source said.
