well, as someone who has a lot to do with woora, better coming straight from the horses mouth really. Our reputation within the league over the last 5-6 yrs would be pretty ordinary, the club spent a lot of money on blokes that didnt give a sh*t about the club, and the club went backwards quickly as the locals left due to this. Over the last two seasons nearly all the locals have returned, we have recruited some great young people, and there is general excitement as to where our club is heading. Off field we have worked our ar*e off to become sustainable which we have achieved, our rec reserve is looking sensational, we have a great list of young players who will all be around in the future due to work commitments. Players like Iannucci x2, bolton, jamie nicholas, joel mckenzie, nathan cameron, ben notting, kyle steicke, todd beasy, toby frankel, owen hone, nick williams, justin morton, billy price although young, are going to be good footballers, if they already arent classed as that. We miss the 25-30 yr old seasoned footballers, but this group in 2-3 yrs time will be great if we keep them together. So after all that, our rep was ordinary, but from someone involved in the club, we are going places and we know we may not be quite there yet, but it wont be far away!! sounds korny but its where we are honestly at.

Not to mention back to back cricket flags!

back to back in a and b grade..
won 4 out of the 5 possible flags this season.. Thigns are looking up.

Played murrabit last night, surely they had lots out, they didnt have nats or billy i know that, but think they only kicked 2 goals.. freshi cameron of the long run kicked 10+. Nick Arthur at CHF played really well, good skills. Was a decent hit out for us.

Thanks Roota, thought it was better coming from me.

The start of the season is just around the corner, not much been discussed. Has everyone's lists just about been finalised or are there still nets out trying to secure the last minute clearances? Who will be the movers and sliders? Balranald to win again? What are the thoughts of all concerned?

went over to gunny sat seems kangas wont clear young ruckman anderson to l.g bombers rekon theyve cleared enouf the other way to get afree pass .. many last year not to mention kangas coach...will be interesting

How are N/NW United shaping up this year? Been told they're not a bad bunch, so I thought I might keep an eye on them this season:thumbsu:.

for the apparent money that they are throwing around they would want to improve..
Mind you, they have to come from a long way back as last season they were ordinary.. Good luck to them if they think this is the best way forward for them. but seems a bit like 2000 & 2001 to me, lot of cash, win a flag, back to the bottom for ten years while the club finances recover.
But, guess they had to do something, couldnt continue like last few seasons.
spend money to make money??

with the season up and coming, better get some tips in lads..

Barham vs Tooleybuc - tool
Cohuna vs Balranald - bal
kerang vs Lake Boga - lake boga
Lalbert vs United - United
Woora vs Tyntynder - Woora :)
SH can enjoy the bye!

They really had no choice. look at the money they paid players last year(you know who i'm talking about) who should not be playing senior footy. was a bigger joke then what there doing this year and atleast they will win a few games. Nyahs juniours are just not good enough to build a club on so they have to search somewhere else.

Nyah were handy for about 5 years after those grand finals

Barham vs Tooleybuc - Tooley
Cohuna vs Balranald - Coh
kerang vs Lake Boga - Boga
Lalbert vs United - United
Woora vs Tyntynder - Tyn

Anyone got any comments on the games over the weekend??? Our game was a very even and hard fought contest. Nyah have picked up a couple of very handy little blokes who gaves us a lot of trouble but we were able to come from behind and get over them late in the last quarter.

heard a little whisper that a few nyah boys punched on between themselves on saturday night. wasn't there myself but have been told the new coach was the main agitated. can anyway add to this.

Yeah mate can add to this, not true... Not sure where you got your news from but there was an altercation between 2 clubs and that was it.. Nothing to do with Nyah boys punching on themselves! Also been informed that the Nyah blokes handled situation well when the situation could have got out of hand!

Who was the other club involved???

from what I was told it was between woorinen and nyah, haven't heard much more so couldn't have been much

was definitely not between woorinen and nyah. the altercation was between two nyah players regarding a girl. from what i believe one new recruit and one existing player.
