I wonder what a trade to WCE or Freo would look like if there where players were the main asset(s). Anyone care to take a stab at it? Picks can be put in to balance of course.

West Coast
Chad Warner for Eagles 1st round compensation pick. (Top 5 pick)
Sydney get Allen.

Fremantle
I really don't see players paying a bit part of it for Fremantle.
Maybe Davies or Draper, if you would like a KPD. I think both are too good to play WAFL next year, but I don't think they are in our best 22.

Sydney have a very good list, and it will be hard for someone either club would be willing to give up to make your 22.

I think you will end up with mostly picks.

What do the bulldogs need? For when Jamarra decides to leave?

Personal would have no interest in moving Draper on. Blokes got something about him that reminds me a lot of a former wearer of the number 37.

Also, either way, it'll almost certainly be picks going back to the swans. Player for player swaps with players of significant value are something that is pretty rare to see.

If a player goes back the other way, more likely to be a steak knives type player that the Sydney think could maybe play a role and take the punt on.

Youd be completely stupid to even entertain such a dumb idea. If you wanted a player itd be a 3 way trade. Clubs are trading Warner in cos our midfields are weak so why would you want one of our weak midfielders

I think Sydney could use the money elsewhere. Gut feel is you would take the gamble on Clayton Oliver

Libba and Treloar are 32, Bont is 29, Richards 25 and other than that there's pretty much just Sanders coming through. Definitely need another top end midfielder to offset the losses of Dunkley, Lipinski, Baz and Macrae over the last few years and the old boys not having long left.

1) Im not arguing father/son wasn't a benefit over 20 years ago, but Ablett wasn't valued as a first rounder, that's some serious revisionist history to pretend like he was a top 10 pick value in the third round.

2) Geelong is still the ONLY team in VFL/AFL history to have to TRADE for Free Agents, AND IT"S HAPPENED TWICE LOL
Cats should never have HAD to trade for either of them and yet they are still the only team to ever have to do it. In fact, that's a negative for everyone else as Cats have paid up more than anyone EVER has for Free Agents lol

3) Bailey Smith was already signed to Cotton On at the Dogs, Hawthorn was his initial interest and he only switched to Geelong AFTER the Hawks went in a different direction ala Barrass and Battle. That's an assumption that is a falsehood that you've just tried to pass off as fact.

4) Tom Hawkins family was already rich from farming, he could have never played a game of footy in his life and been rich as his family was already stinking rich before he ever pulled on a Cats jumper.

There's a lot of unsubstantiated stuff that gets bandied around without any backing behind it. It's rubbish and very obvious tall poppy syndrome.

But it's going away from Chad Warner OOC talk so lets move on from this. Warner getting his Hungry Jacks franchise yet?
Cats should talk to Chad.
He was a mad Cats fan as a youngster

Trac is more likely to end up at Sydney. Oliver will not be leaving the Dees. Not even to the Cats.

Nah he seems pretty set on heading back to WA.

Can see why you’d link us but yeah I think we’ve got our own targets in mind eg Butters, Cadman

Those 2 would be more realistic purely because they are players more likely to want to move to country Vic whereas I don't think Warner would want to.

I thought all freo supporters were convinced Warner was going to the Dockers..Now they are trying to push him to Geelong
