Yeah.
Had he retired say 10 years before, would’ve been better off. No coach is bigger than the club.
Sir Alex thought the coach is bigger than the players. He clearly thought he was the club.

As much as I disliked it, Klopp leaving helps the club moving forward.

Manager for 27 years is ridiculous.

But he’s a legend.

Also think he isn’t the tactical genius and wouldn’t even last v Pep’s. But what do I know

27 years is a long time, but 13 PL titles, 2 CL, multiple domestic cups, one of the all time greats and gave us United fans a period of success barely any teams get.

Are we now suffering from it? Maybe

SAF won 6 league titles and 1 CL in his final 10 years. Suggesting SAF should have retired 10 years earlier to be “better off” in 2024 is the same as saying the Glazers are great football owners and all they needed was a younger manager to win the same 6 league titles and 1 CL… and so much more. Yikes.

SAF won 6 league titles and 1 CL in his final 10 years. Suggesting SAF should have retired 10 years earlier to be “better off” in 2024 is the same as saying the Glazers are great football owners and all they needed was a younger manager to win the same 6 league titles and 1 CL… and so much more. Yikes.

SAF was brilliant at rebuilding title winning squads, but his biggest mistake was not leaving the squad in good shape when he left, was probably so determined to get back at City, signed RVP, got the title no.20 and sailed off into the sunset.

That squad wasn’t very good and thinking back to Rooney wanting out back around 2010 was a warning sign, he could see we were starting to fall behind.
