Williams has been one of our best all season yet dropped. Must be missing something here.

To think I would be upset about him getting dropped in round 19 shows how far he has come

Why the **** would you want to lose both DBJ and Williams in one week, willingly. Kills defensive flexibility for one. Evans is obviously in for DBJs role.

Wasn't anything special last week, but he's had a good block of form and is leading the maggies goal kicking.

Surely Burton and Williams are swapping the HBF and sub positions.

Lord would be the emergency named to cover Dixon, Jackson don't think its fair to debut him as a sub against the top side, so it comes down to Williams v Burgoyne for the sub and Williams offers a lot more IMO.

I suspect Williams will be sub and Jackson a possible late in for JHF or Butters if they don’t come up.

We’ve gone for a tad more height and/or tall defending capability in keeping Burton and Jones in ahead of Williams.

I get the Evans selection to replace DBJ and am pleasantly surprised that he was selected ahead of Fantasia.

Collingwood have a crook old squad. On paper, they win most of those match-ups, let alone the way they play collectively. All of their outs have also been playing very good footy. Interesting that Ginnivan can’t get in this side despite WHE being injured.

Why Evans?

We need players who know where the stick are.

Despite changing on the ball, he is our leading goal kicker for the Magpies.
I had expected him to be picked a month or so ago; but after picking Narkle, I presume the Coaches had to see what he (Narkle) can offer.

Evans can mark, break tackles and more importantly kick and hand off goals.
If he kicks one and hands off another, that is a heck of a lot more than our other forward-flankers have been producing.

Jonas is going to carve them up. He will be unstoppable up forward. Towering over their defenders and charging up the ground in the nick riewoldt mould.

williams been trying to wrong foot opponent and almost been claimed and kicking dropped off a bit but hey that is just incidental observations compared to line coach study

Williams has been excellent this year but wasn't great last week. And let's not forget that it's not some spud replacing him, it's Burton who at his best is very capable and versatile. It's a slight eye brow raiser but not worth melting over IMO.

Williams could just be a bit sore and tired, it's been a long season for him coming straight into a consistent role. Just a freshen up, Collingwood have been doing the same thing over these later rounds.

Personnel aside, it looks a better balanced side and allows Bergman to settle back. Seems like he's played his best games there, but we're trying to move him elsewhere to accommodate another defender since Jones came back.

Although there's a good chance Williams is sub, and then they move Bergman up the ground if a mid/forward is subbed off.
