It's peak Hinkley to play 8 unfit players trying to limit the damage.
I'd say its business as usual hinkley. Peak is probably dual captains.

Good to see Williams dropped, anybody who is capable of playing in a loss isn't somebody I want to see at Port Adelaide. Really we should drop everybody except Francis Evans.

Peak Hinkley is winning the least amount of games in a season, in his entire decade long tenure, after he assured the club that dual captains would help us win more games.

I suspect Williams will be sub and Jackson a possible late in for JHF or Butters if they don’t come up.

We’ve gone for a tad more height and/or tall defending capability in keeping Burton and Jones in ahead of Williams.

I get the Evans selection to replace DBJ and am pleasantly surprised that he was selected ahead of Fantasia.

Possible match-ups:
McKenzie - McStay
Aliir - Cox
Bergman or Burton - Mihocek
Jones - Elliott
Farrell - Hill
Houston - McCreerie
Boak - Sidebotton (wing)
Duursma - J. Daicos
Finlayson - Howell
Dixon - Moore
Marshall - Murphy
McEntee - Noble
SPP - Maynard
Rioli - Quaynor
Lycett - Cameron
Rozee/Butters/Drew/Wines/JHF -N.Daicos/Pendlebury/Adams/Crisp/DeGoey

Collingwood have a crook old squad. On paper, they win most of those match-ups, let alone the way they play collectively. All of their outs have also been playing very good footy. Interesting that Ginnivan can’t get in this side despite WHE being injured.
Your jones and Farrell matchups worry me. Not saying your wrong though. They Just worry me.

I think the mistake here is keeping Duursma in the side. His kicking isn't up to the standard we need this year with this gameplan. Would prefer Williams in ahead of him and Bergman to a wing.
Sure, but getting Duursma a run of AFL games with his running power would be a plus for us come finals…

Looking forward to this, most challenging game all year. Can't believe we mugged you in round 2, hope we can show up with some of that drive this week because I think we'll need to. We had closer games against far less serious sides eg Crows twice this year by less than a goal but thats footy. Those wins didn't mean as much as a win against Port.

When you got pumped in Melbourne they called for Hinkley's head unfairly. Really it was a snowball, us in red hot form, some dodgy umps (not so much #VICBIAS as HomeGroundAdvantage-you should get the umps this time) and these things pile up fast, it happened to us in Brissie.

Now its the serious run home and the big clubs fire up, I have no doubt you are a top 4 side and prolly a top 2. I feel like Ports coaching has been solid and tactically you've shown good focus on hard finals footy. Long runs of wins are a testament to good coaching panels, but you haven't gone for percentage boosting front running.

My favourites at Port are the tough old lugs Dixon and Boak (and Culpepper but not sure he's old), never seem to drop the heads. The knock on Port has been a lack of class (I don't think the heart gets questioned). These young blokes Rozee and JHF and Butters have really addressed that (another sign there's been good coaching in their steady development).

I like JHF reminds me a bit of a smaller Nathan Buckley, plenty of class and even more drive that can look like arrogance if you don't know what you're seeing. So much more to come from him.

I can't shut up about Hinkley coz I think he's a very good coach and he gets stick. I don't think you have a super-resourced coaching panel or much under the table extras so if you're well coached its in great part him. Long runs of honest footy that wins games means he's coached well. The gambit of resting so many fellas was a punt gone wrong, and Carlton are front runners who can make you look bad with non-finals blowout footy.

I don't expect a demoralised Port this week, I expect a hell of a fight. Just hoping for no injuries, and good luck for the rest of the year.

Jones and Williams are the same height. Probably true that Jones plays taller. Certainly I like having Burton in with our undersized defense even if his form has been down or he is carrying something.

Agreed Duursma was horrific last week. You can't question his effort but his skills are costing us quite often and it's not really spoken about . He's still a young bloke so he's got time on his side but he really needs to get over these constant injuries and get some consistency in his game. I still think he'll come good but it's gonna take some time. I think the best case scenario is a Brad Ebert level player. Brad was never known for his skills but forged a very solid career built on his effort and courage and was an invaluable part of our team.
Gotta continue to give him AFL games as long as he's available and doesn't drop off with his effort and back him in to turn it around.

Very sad to see Williams dropped. First loss and he's out.

I thought Williams' form has been more consistent than Ryan Burton's.

I would have had Jackson on the interchange ahead of Evans with either Williams or Evans as the tactical sub. Then again the selectors probably figure that such a big game does not warrant new blood and have opted for experience.

I am pretty happy with the ins but like most worried about our injuries.

Williams is a bit of a head scratcher but Burton takes his spot.

Drew to tag De Goey as he is their best clearance player and if we stop him, it helps with the lack of ball to the Daics.

The wily Boak on Nick Daicos.

Quaynor is also a huge headache. I think Powell-Pepper has the tank to go with him.

Hopefully our midfield and strategies are in place and we see how we fair against the top team in the comp.

I would hardly describe 17 goals in 10 games as 'electrifying form' but that is portadelaidefc.com.au for you. With the electrified Francis Evans and Jed McEntee sitting on the pine waiting to be unleashed Collingwood must be quaking in their boots. I would prefer Williams or Narkle to either of those guys.
