What exactly does Kornes bring to our side at the moment? (I'm looking for positives here!)

He can stick like shite to a blanket........hes really good at that....

One of THE weakest links...and perhaps another one to put up his hand with Broges......with brother in arms.

Would have dropped him ages ago......

I wouldn't drop Kane. His workrate is still something to behold and I think he's actually become more effective this year. He's getting fewer touches than normal but they are generally of a higher quality as opposed to that cheap seagull stuff.

I don't think anyone would drop him for the Brisbane game after the way he played against Norf, but he was lucky to be in the side against Norf at all because he was worse than nothing against the Eagles. I can deal with disposals that aren't particularly damaging to the opposition from a player who's main role is a defensive one, but against the Eagles his disposal was damaging to us.

Salter, Ebert, Butcher, Davenport, Lobbe, Redden, Bass suggests otherwise.

And that's just off the top of my head, a list of players who should be above him at selection in either of these positions.

Lobbe proved in the space of 40 minutes last week why he should be selected every game from hereon to ruck in front of Stewart.
And a fit Salter should be a lay down misere at full forward.

Correct, however my point was refuting the assertion that the stocks were thin on the ground.
We have the stocks, the cupboard isn't bare as some people think.

We have stocks. Everyone has stocks.

Davenport?!

Apparently Pittard and Brogan have been ruled out, and Carlile and Hartlett are tests: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/117346/default.aspx

With that in mind,

Out: Pittard, In: Motlop
Out: Carlile (whether he's injured or not), In: Surj. Chaplin and Trengove to handle key position duties, with O'Shea taking the third tall. Trengove not to play ruck at all, with Lobbe and the very lucky Stewart (who only remains in the side due to Brogan's injury) to take ruck duties for the game.
Out: Moore, In: Banner
Out: Hartlett (if injured), In: Salopek

And as I said before, if Hartlett's in I'd drop Jacobs for Salopek but I don't see Primus doing the same.

What would be the point of that, Salopek has had his chance better to let someone like Jacobs play and grow confidence so he doesn't turn into a Salopek

Out of curiosity how much of an extended run did Salopek get as an inside midfielder? I would have favourably compared him against Matthew Priddis and Jobe Watson given every time I've seen him on ball he's dominated.

Is there a particular reason why he's not been left to play on ball for a year or so given the improvement Priddis and Watson have shown? He's only 26 which isn't old.

Good question, he hasn't played much inside, not sure why

choco wanted to turn him into a half back flanker and Sal's shoulders have never allowed him an extended run in any position.

I'd really like to see Trengove play on Brown on Sunday...Banner to get a run this weekend PLEASE!

Carlile out was confirmed by Matty on 5AA. With Trengove probably backing up Lobbe (Brogan listed as "test") I reckon Chappy gets the job on Brown. Last night Matty implied they weren't looking for Chad to come in this week either. So Salter comes in, he'd be running/kicking out of defence, I doubt he'd get the job on Brown. Or he may just get that chance up forward this week if Stewart also drops out on form.

Unless he's playing mind games (!) last night Matty pretty much confirmed Banner won't play AFL this weekend, must a few more together at SANFL level, also said as much of the likes of Sal, Surj, Ebo, etc "the 24-27 year olds". But I think Pittard's injury and Stewart's form will force his hand on a few fronts and frustratingly for Mitch instead of putting in another good SANFL game I wouldn't be surprised to see him as the travelling emergency in case Hamish's shoulder doesn't come up.

OUT: Carlile (inj.), Pittard (inj.), Stewart
IN: Salter, Surjan, Ebert

EMG: Banner

So his 3 or 4 consecutive BOG's weren't enough?

Katrina Gill tweeted yesterday that Primus had indicated Pettigrew would come in for Carlile.

FFS  Good to see we're building for the future, Pettigrew straight back in but Banner needs to put together a few more good games in the SANFL.

What are everyone's thoughts on the game? I think we're a chance, but then again I thought that last week and look what happened. I'll be keeping an eye on Redden for the Lions, he's had a great year so far
