Would drop lecras ahead of Allen based off Today. Allen just had clean touch all day and always seems to put himself in the right spot.

Lecras just seems a step off and another player that is going to watch their player stream out of defence through the corridor and let our incredible defence cop it.

Oscar’s all class, but can’t see the MC making such a bold decision as lec has more than 100 times the afl experience. IF lecras plays on next year though I’d dare say Oscar will go past him at this rate.

Out: Schofield (desperately unlucky), Allen (see Schofield)
In: Kennedy, Jetta

B: Sheppard, Barrass, Hurn
HB: Jetta, McGovern, Cole
C: Masten, Shuey, Hutchings
HF: Cripps, Darling, Rioli
F: LeCras, Kennedy, Vardy
R: Lycett, Yeo, Redden
I: Duggan, Ryan, Sheed, Venables
E: Schofield, Ollen, Nelson, Ah Chee

Don't need a third tall defender against the Pies, it's a toss up between Barrass and Schoey.

Allen makes away assuming Kennedy's right, if he's not then I'd have absolutely no qualms Ollen playing his third AFL game in a final. Just a natural footballer.

I think everyone can forget us dropping a ruck. 2 rucks has helped get us where we are. And I am sure Simpson has noticed how our rucks are taking turns getting hurt during the last few matches. We were lucky not to lose Vardy today due to a shoulder to the chin.

Out: Lecras, Oscar Allen, Lycett
In: Nelson, Kennedy, Jetta

Lycett and Lecras just aren't up to it. Oscar Allen provided little.

Really wonder what game you watch sometimes. Allen had a hand in multiple goals then shifted back to provide an extra number, Lycett battled well against Martin.

Please explain!
If we have only two talls, that's probably Schofield to Cox and McGovern to Mihocek. Cox didn't play against us last time but he'll need an accountable defender. And McGovern gave Mihocek no respect last time and carved Collingwood up. It worked but with Cox in and Mihocek an improved player, I'm not sure if we'll just be able to roll the dice as aggressively. Then we're also locked into playing Sheppard on JDG, which worked well enough last time. There's no plan B in that. So I think there's an argument for having Schofield on Cox, Barrass on Mihocek. That frees up McGovern to pick off attacks. And if JDG threatens to tear us a new arseh*le, we have the flexibility to change things around.

This strategy is killing WCE in the middle. It might work against a woeful Brisbane but have you already forgotten Melbourne?

Vardy hardly got to ruck when JD went down in the first quarter. That wasn’t a genuine tag team that was just lycett getting schooled as u’d expect. Add jk and jd back in so Vardy and Scotty can work in tandem and they should put up a better fight.

Probably the best game Lycett's played this year was against Grundy when NicNat went down in the first half.

So let's drop him for the final and let the notoriously fragile Vardy go solo against the AA ruckman and his 206cm backup.

You agree then that Lycett gets monstered against any genuine ruck? He only competes against the "shaun griggs" in the AFL. Lycett can't lead in the ruck and he has to be number one priority for trading.

I've be keen on trialling the one ruck since NN went down...but its too late now. You don't trial things in finals.

Works OK when they spend less time up fwd and rotate through the bench more, which is why it seems like a waste of a potential mid rotation. Both too slow to spend large amounts of time up fwd and get in the way.

It might not be a bad thing. Collingwood fans are saying they can't get tickets if its Thursday night. Work and all that.

Fake news. Everyone knows Collingwood fans don't have jobs.

Two rucks is required now. I wish we can try and keep Schofield in, his one on one defending is excellent. But we need Jetta’s run... decisions decisions!
Kennedy for Allen is a no brainer. I really would like to see Ah Chee come in and be used in the middle, but they will probably stick with Sheed. Time to step up Dom!

Yeah I’m not saying he’s a gun, but I think it’s unfair to assess the combination of lycett and vardy based on the game against meblourne, as it was pretty much just lycett one out.

If lycett leaves for enough to get us band two compo I wouldn’t be against that, but we would be desperately short in that department.
