Preview Changes for Round 2, 2023 vs Collingwood @ MCG

Jones confused the **** out of me as a Port fan. It didn't seem like there was any direction or structure to what he was doing, he was just bobbing up everywhere.

But the thing is - I think it confused the **** out of the Brisbane players even more. He made it almost impossible to counter and it was probably the reason he kicked 3.

He was basically this guy:

Through a convoluted reallocation of forward rotation minutes, I'd bring Boak in for someone. Maybe Fantasia. Maybe Jones (to be sub). Maybe Drew (to be sub).

WTF, DBJ was everywhere yesterday, linked people up, put in some decent hits and broke up plenty of attacks.

This would absolutely NOT the the game he’s gets dropped from.

Suprised at some of the disrespect and comments about Boak in the other threads. The bloke is best 22 in any team. The bloke is an absolute champion of the club and there’s been no signs he’s about to drop off the cliff. Happy for him to be managed with this rib injury but saying he doesn’t deserve to come back in is just weird and shallow. Makes me sad reading comments from supposed Port supporters.

I didn't rate DBJs game as high as others and he had a few bomb scare moments. The missed bump on Ashcroft was awful.

It’s no disrespect to Boak, we literally just slaughtered most people’s premiership favourites. It’s very hard to make changes to a team that played so well. Of course Boak will come in, but who for? Who knows. Jones might be the guy, but he had a fantastic game too.

Good to see Frankie get a run and a goal assist but I would go tall with the sub this week, Visentini or Finlayson.

I reckon Byrne-Jones saved himself in the 2nd half. Burgoyne didn’t do too well in the SANFL trial.

You can accept the bloke is an absolute legend while also being impressed with how our midfield functioned without him.

Ftr I'm fine with him coming back, but there aren't any midfielders I want to drop for him.

Finlayson, if the club deems him ready for 4 quarters of AFL footy, could probably add more to the side than Georgiades. Not only up forward, but in the ruck so we don’t have to have mids in there.

My gut feel is that we will use Georgiades in a trade to get Pickett.

Regardless I'm unsure about dropping him. He is a mess in front of goals but kicking them would flip it to a very good game. And although his replacement would be Finlayson, I don't want Ken to have any ideas on moving away from the 3 talls forward line.
