Changes for Sydney Game

Russell has to go, he has the kicking skills of a 5 year old oz kick kid, Walker has to come back in. As for Hartlett we should play him for the rest of the season and see wether or not he is good enough, has been on the list long enough now and needs to show something or be shown the door. Either way we are sitting in a good position ladder wise and performing better than alot of us thought at the beginning of the season, the future at carlton is very bright we just need to see who is good enough to be around in 5 years and who isnt.

Haven't watched the game as i'm overseas at the moment but reading comments on the game it seems the general feeling around the place is

IN Walker, Hartlett
OUT Edwards, Anderson

What are the coaching staff waiting for by not promoting Hartlett as of yet? He may not be starring in the VFL but has shown a bit in the few AFL games he's played, are we really going to just let him go out without giving him one last run?

Also could Walker be a solution up forward? Apparently he's been playing HF for the Ants and has done very well. Has a great leap and great athleticism, could be a hard match-up. Might need to improve his delivery into the forward 50 to be a big success but i'm sure he can improve.

I am taking to axe to the team that played last night

B. Jamison Setanta Carrazzo
HB. Scotland Austin Thorton
C. Simpson Stevens Gibbs
R. Cloke Judd Murphy
HF. Waite Hartlett Walker
F. Betts Fevola Fisher

Int. Armfield, Bentick, Grigg, Kruzer

In: Setanta, Austin, Armfield, Walker, Hartlett

Out: Russell, Browne, Anderson, Wiggins, Edwards

Hopefully armfield is fit for next week.

While he doesn't have the second efforts of the Murphy's or the clean pick-ups of the Judd's and Gibbs' when Russel is given opportunity he generally takes advantage. A much bigger concern is Anderson/Grigg/Browne. While they all have the talent they seem to have lost the hunger they all possessed in there earlier games and are showing far less than Russel. The kicks to him were preety ordinary as well, cue Waite and Thornton.
In: Walker, Hampson
Out: Anderson, Grigg/Browne

We bring in IMO a much better tap ruckman than the Kreuz at the moment and Hampson also allows for Kreuzer and/or Cloke to rest forward. Although I wouldn't totally be against dropping Cloke after his last few performances. Walker is the obvious inclusion, we are missing desperation and hunger at the football and it is something this man supplies in bucket-loads Anderson will surely take his place.

Mate, Grigg was decent on Dal Santo tonight and got a bit of the ball himself. Thought some of his work in the centre was good. Will definetly not get dropped and usually gets a run with role but also gets enough of the ball himself. Although sometimes his hand to foot skills are a little slow.

Walker will definetly come in for anderson. Nothing against the kid but Walker is a better player. Anderson will be ok, but probably needs to work on a few things in the magoos.

I think Sentanta will come in for Edwards. Edwards just didnt seem to click last night, although delivery was terrible into the forwards.

Hampson will most likely come in for Kruez to give him a rest. Wouldnt mind Kruez spending a couple of weeks in the magoos just to get more playing time at an easier level and also give Hampson some more exposure. Cloke does need to lift on last nights performance though.

Thought Browne was decent last night and loves the hard stuff. But he and Russell are probably next in line if any other changes occur (like Pfieffer or Jackson get a game)

I think we are really struggling down forward at the moment and I'd like to see Hartlett giving a run again. He hasn't played more then 2-3 games in a row due to hamstring injuries and we have to give him a few games in a row to see if he's upto it.

Like to see Austin givin a game before O'hAilpin. Austin has been playing pretty well in the reserves and deserves a game. O'hAilpin has been struggling of late and I'm not sure he is upto AFL standard.

Russell should be dropped, but I doubt it. Must be Ratten's Love child or something ;)

In a development year I cant believe there are calls to drop Anderson and Edwards after 2 games. What makes it that at our club you need to get a chance and perform at elite level from your first touch, especially considering from how far behind the other clubs we have come.
I cant believe that the Saints having 2 good talls in Riewoldt & Kosi we dropped our best spoiling backman in Setanta.Having said that there probably isnt a match up for him against Swans

IN: Walker for Russell(Forever)
Hampson for Cloke(Far too short.Sydney have very tall & strong rucks)
Hartlett for that disgrace called Carrazzo

I am starting to lose faith in the MC. Leaving Irish out was ridiculous.
The axe has to be swung. for me:

Out: Anderson, Russel, Edwards, Carrazzo
Ins: Walker, Irish, Hartlett bannister (at the moment from now to the end of the year should be the 1'st pick IMO. Has huge potential)

Wiggo is one of my favs but he has 2 be on his last legs.
Ando: His skills are deplorable, I even noticed this at the ants on the w/e.
Carrazzo: (swear he suck D*ck 4 a liveing. SPent half the night on his knees last night)
Hartlett (at the moment from now to the end of the year should be the 1'st pick IMO. Has huge potential and needs game time.)

We sit back every week and watch other clubs drop young players or sub standard players while we just seemed to be compacent with losing. Now that we have a bit of depth the MC had better start making some hard calls. If they do that at least we know they are being Pro Active.

In Walker Harts Hammo (must fast track develop't)
Out Ando Russell Fish (needs a shake up)

I think Sydney might be too small to need Carlos (unless Kruze needs a rest) and I could be convinced to get Banno back in there

I agree with your changes but Edwards out rather than Fisher.

B: B. Thorton M. Jamison A. Carrazzo
HB: B. Gibbs M. Austin A. Walker
C: K. Simpson N. Stevens S. Grigg
HF: M. Murphy J. Waite B. Fisher
F: E. Betts B. Fevola J. Edwards
R: C. Cloke C. Judd A. Bentick
INT: S. Hampson J. Anderson H. Scotland
S. Browne
EMG: S. O'hAilpin J. Russell S. Wiggins

OUTS: J. Russell (Needs a fortnight in the seconds
then come back for Browne depending
on his form)
M. Kreuzer (Need to give Hampson a go and restore
some confidence in the seconds)
S. Wiggins (Unlucky, but with Austin in and Waite down
forward must make way)

thoughts????

I like these changes for next week. Only to give the other players a run. Want to see Austin and Hartlett played consistently till the end of the year. Maybe rest Kruezer against the big bodies and leave wiggins in so he can get his 100 b4 the end of the year.

Setanta in to play on Barry. Barry will be back from his therapy otherwise we may just beat the swans.

I watched Joe Anderson a lot before he was drafted where he was mainly a defensive run with type of player.

Joe always had problems with his decision making and skills under pressure and from what I have seen still has those issues.

Milne absolutely r*ped Carrazzo, while he tried to run with him, Bloody hopeless!
