So anyways, about those changes/previews...

Tom Morris reporting today that Clarry's a chance to miss the Lions game as they manage his finger injury.

Probably a good idea if he's going to have another game like that. Was clearly having trouble picking up the ball and seemed to resort to horrible rush kicks instead of handballs (12 kicks to 4 handballs).

Better off getting his finger right instead of being completely ineffective again because he's trying to protect it.

Yeah he was dog shit shouldn't have played. Apparently may can play through busted ribs and damaged vertebrae better than Clarry can handle a broke fingernail

So back to the changes:

Billings to sub, Woey in for a full game
Kozzie is out, Spargo comes in
Clayton out unless his hand is 100%, is Tholstrup a chance?

Brown is absolutely fine, he gives us such a better structure in the forward line, until Van Rooyen can start being more consistent someone like Brown is absolutely required.

Spargo listed as 2-4 weeks on the most recent injury list.

They seem to love Laurie for some reason, and he was emergency again this week, reckon he'll come in one way or another, perhaps as sub though hopefully.

This is a piss take surely? Our forward line has been non existent apart from the Hawks game which is the only game the 🫏 didn't play

Not at all - if mcadams was available then I'd be happy with him in as the extra forward. But Brown still gives some great structure.

Didn't realise Spargo was still so far off. I hope Laurie isn't playing but I think you might be right, I really think he's a long way off right now.

Based on what does he give us structure?

9,7,9 and 5 disposals. Goalless twice
1 tackle for the season, no contested marks in the last 2 games.

So what does he tangibly add outside 'being tall'

Kicks killer game turning goals from the boundary in close games?

Get rid of the bias, Brown clearly makes us function better. When has Brown ever been in the team for his disposal count, tackling or contested marking?

He generally makes strong leads and creates space behind, provides an out with long leads to the wings, gets to the right spot and generally gets the ball to ground at a minimum (very rarely gets out marked). Plus, he just being there means JVR doesn’t get the best defender/double teamed etc.

Sure, some of the above is a direct result of his being tall but who cares? At the moment the pros of having him in the team far outweigh the cons.

Dead
Someone's never watched brown before.

I hope we smack Brisbane, I’d like to see taj start the game over billings, nothing against him but taj deserves a start.

Billing’s been slight inconsistent
