Have said before that we need to fish or cut bait. He's either a long term first choice midfielder for us or he isn't. If he is then stop dropping him. And if he isn't then stop picking him.

If we don't think he and Greenwood can play in the same side for instance then we are wasting our time (on one of them).

Snakey, you can try and lull us into a false sense of security all you like.

It ain’t working.

Taking nothing away from Ellis-Youlman who I rate as a good solid player, but I am happy to see the back of Gibbs, as he usually runs around on his own picking up touches at will against us.

Some good in's for North, but I am concerned about dropping McKay, as it leaves Tarrant to Jenkins which is okay, but THompson on Walker leaves us a little on the smaller side.

We're still coached by a spud, so I am not in any way confident.

Walker and Jenkins are in abysmal form so your defense will have no trouble stopping either of them.

You could play literally anyone on them

Poholke seems more confident this year, at least from the SANFL matches so far, hopefully he's turned a corner.

A lot of other players should be thanking their lucky stars they kept their spots though.

Got no idea if he'll make it or not...

But he deserves the opportunity as a result of his dominate SANFL performances.

No point having that side if we don't actually respect the performances of those within it.

Last year of his contract too, so time to see if the extra pre-season or not has done the job with him.

At the moment with the form they are in you only have to send Tarrant to Jenkins and he will have walker covered at the same time - gives you a spare player in defence or wherever you want one

Jenkins has 48 goals from 15 games at Docklands. I'm not writing him off.

Tex will probably play fairly high, so considering we play an extra defender, I suspect we'll just zone off him when he runs past 55-60

EFFORT

I called it straight after the game last week, Bryce played like a player that didn't GAF, it was very plain to the eye.
His disposal by foot was almost cringeworthy....that woeful shot at goal from inside 50 that would have been struggling to cover 30m said it all.

True. He doesn’t look up for it. Neither does JJ. No change to our forward structure at all. Keep doing the same things....

Interesting emergencies, 3 of the 4 named need game time to either get form or match fitness.
We have an 8 day break to the Gold coast game, so Fitness can be made up but not match fitness

It's one of those chicken and the egg arguments with those two at times. They're playing awful, but then our ball movement to them is so awful as well, it's hard to see which one is causing the bigger issue. Like we push so far up the ground now, but with our complete over use of the ball, how do the forwards actually know when they can move back? That clip someone posted where we had the ball for a minute and touched it a dozen times, but didn't move the ball forward. If you're JJ or Walker or Betts, at what point in that chain do you go, OK time for me to get moving back up the field? Then when they do move it quickly we're always out of position because we're just taking so damn long they're caught out when it has gone quick.

Atleast Mackay looks like he gives a shit, even if not up to A/B grade standard. Gibbs looked like hes in retirement and the game doesnt matter. Good call to drop him. Bugger off a find some passion for the game you have the privilege to play at the highest level, for a tonne of money. Players like murphy and mackay would give their left nut to have half the talent of gibbs. But they have ten times the heart.

Glad they are putting the boot up Gibbs. His effort was deplorable, took no responsibility for his disposal and is clearly better than what he is producing.

Rewards poholke for a rich bit of form as well
They replaced him with a player that will be easy to drop in a week when they bring back Gibbs. It's the way they roll.

I don’t rate him, but nothing takes away Myles’ excellent SANFL form and he demanded selection.

I struggle to see the logic. Isn’t SANFL not meant to be about winning games, but rather getting players to learn and implement structures. How can you then overlay best performers get a call up? We’ve called up two inside mids to replace two outside players (predominantly). Shouldn’t the logic be the best two performing role players that can replace Seeds and Gibbs come in.

There is no system in our selection as much as there is no system in our forward structures and our movement from half back into our forward line. Does anybody even know what role some of these players have any more? Gibbs, Knight, Mackay, Kelly, Milera, Smith. It’s so complicated. That’s ok if it works and the footy looks good. But now it looks complicated to the point that nobody knows what they are doing.

Where the **** are CEY and Poholke going to play and what shifting of current players around does this involved.

This is playing games in my head. Is there not a better player in the AFC playing SANFL than David McKay. 31 in July. I would have thought he was there this year for back up. If we retain him ahead of a misfunctioning Gibbs suggest he is in for life. Both should be out.

Poholke absolutely smashed it in the SANFL last week. I feel like you need to reward good performance, even though I don’t particularly rate him as a player.
I agree, reward a good performance, but I don’t have much confidence in him at AFL level.

Our coaching panel has NFI; why would we? ;)

Our next four games are North, Gold Coast, St Kilda and Fremantle.

Gibbs should be out for all four of them.

Next week Mackay goes for Gallucci. Greenwood straight back in as well for another senior player.

Fogarty should play at least two of those matches. Same with McHenry.

What the bloody hell is going on with our club.
I also been disappointed with Gibbs game but played better last week and how in the hell is he been worse than Kelly .
Or Mackay or Hartigan or even Jones and Murphy.
Then who do we bring in 1 plodder Poholke who does ok but not the talent of many other young players on our list and why not get a goal kicker in like Stengle as we just not scoring from inside 50s . so how is our 2v ins going to help that like Stengle or Greenwood. Even Gibbs as permanent fwd would provide better option to help out .
But even that stupid decision pales in comparison to picking CEY . Why Why Why .Every year last few years we realise offers nothing so last to rookie and give him a token pass due to injury last year and now put in team above many much more talented players.
Looks like stupid Burton and his fitness gurus have a say in this team and until we get rid of both Burton and CEY and maybe Pyke this club going nowhere.
I keep trying to remain positive then these type of selection just throws me.

You know that won't happen but nice to dream.

Poholke plays the role we stuck Seedsman in, that of a half-forward we originally had Douglas in. We had one extra runner in because of our refusal to drop Mackay, that evens up with Seedsman out.

CEY goes inside and allows Sloane or Brad to play slightly outside, rotates forward if JJ rucks or Tex is off and can hopefully take a mark.
