Rubbish it is. You drop one of your highest paid players who we paraded around last year.... it's a very big statement.
Particularly when you drop him for effort, he's basically calling him out.
60 touches and 6 goals in the SANFL isn't enough for you ?? You need untwistable knickers.Incredible how a spud like Poholke gets a game over Gibbs.
Lol Crows.
He's only had 2 tackles throughout the JLT matches and our 3 games so far, how does that go unpunished? How did Atkins survive? He was disgusting last week.
Dropping your biggest recruit in 5 years, after the club and media proclaimed him as the savior, is a big call. They're dropping him on effort and peaheartedness. Not when you let perennial underperformers slide on through - yet again.
Dropping one player isn't making a statement, especially when it's a relatively new player who doesn't have years of weak performances for us on their resume.
ruh rohSurely Bryce Gibbs doesn't get dropped. He's playing solid football. Granted, he's not winning games off his own boot but he's still a valuable player.

I have to admit, i jumped off the Poholke Bandwagon last year and still remain a bit worried about him.I think poholke will never make it and we should’ve brought greenwood or gallucci in. However going on form Poholke has been playing the best in the sanfl. So I can’t blame the reasoning
Has Gibbs really been that disappointing though?
I said it before but he's playing decent football. Not winning matches off his own boot but surely his form warrants selection.
And I have been watching Adelaide games and following Gibbs. My thoughts aren't based on just looking at stats.
Poholke is too damn slow for the AFL and not just his running but his speed of disposal. I hope he proves me wrong though.60 touches and 6 goals in the SANFL isn't enough for you ?? You need untwistable knickers.
Agree one of Walker, Jenkins, Lynch needed to be dropped. Our forward structure is completely wrong. Wont hapen under our current coach though. Would have also dropped Betts who is done imo. I will admit i never wanted our club to trade in gibbs. Was worth a 2nd rounder and said it at the time. You guys got a great deal from the idiots running our club.Just one last comment on Gibbs before I go back to the CFC board.
He played his best football forward of centre for us, either hitting up the lead inside forward 50 or taking the game on and slotting them himself.
I reckon a better option would have been to drop a tall forward in Walker, Lynch or Jenkins and play Gibbs as a 3rd tall forward. He's exceptional above his head for his size and he'll apply more forward pressure than the other three.
I just hope Gibbs can offer Adelaide something. He was a good servant for CFC for a decade and I don't want to see him finish his career on a whimper.

Some of you are just way too hard to please.
It was a joke.......What a load of shit, every player should be prepared to tackle and every player has an opportunity to do so in every game
They all keep pinching players we develop......So “we” say.
Does anyone else think we’re that good.?
I agree with the sentiment but it's round 4. You usually won't see many clubs go postal with the axe until about round 6 onwards.Yes, it is a big call, but it looks like scapegoating.
A real statement would be to drop multiple poor performing, under-achieving players; and we have plenty of them at the moment who deserved to be dropped due to a lack of effort (as you say).
Dropping one of them is scapegoating.
Dropping 2 would mean something; dropping 3 would be an actual statement.
I don’t think anyone is arguing that Gibbs didn’t deserve a boot. And sure you’re right, he’s a big name.Dropping your biggest recruit in 5 years, after the club and media proclaimed him as the savior, is a big call. They're dropping him on effort and peaheartedness.

Do we though ?? Atkins you can probably drop on effort and the 2 big guys up forward on effort.Yes, it is a big call, but it looks like scapegoating.
