I’ve always liked him, where others see a player too slow to make decisions, I see a player who doesn’t want to waste the ball. The speed and awareness of how long he has at the higher level comes with game time, as does his the ability to create a bit of extra time for himself.
Just needs a decent go to adjust to the quicker pace of AFL. Generally you are better off rusking getting caught trying to use the ball properly than wasting it.

Poholke has kicked 6 goals in the SANFL's 2 games this year rotating forward. So yes he can rotate there.
Ok, but don't play him up forward for the majority of the game as reckon he will struggle to get into the game like previously. He must be given a decent go on ball.

Will leave end of year and play 22 games next year most likely with a top 4 club. Rinse repeat. Said it a few times but this coaching group (Pyke and his idiot mate Campo)along with those above are slowly destroying this club. But who ******* cares, we have a full stadium.
You really think that ?? He's had a hugely interrupted summer and you, along with several others whinged and bitched about us playing underdone players last year, Now we arent doing that and all of a sudden its a bad thing ??

He needs to request a trade, for his own sake.

A better coach than Pyke will have him humming in no time. Pyke isn't a development coach.
Certainly isn't a development coach. He is the antipothes of one and the main reason he will be fired.

Certainly are, getting pinged HTB stops the game for 20 seconds allowing you to reset. Turning it over in live play is what gets you torched.

On face value it seems odd to replace outsiders with insiders, but when you look at North's team and the way they've been playing, they dont move the ball quickly and their midfield is full of grunt players. So in that sense I think we've made appropriate changes, albeit one or two are fortunate.

Their back six isn't great but much will depend on our forwards ability to contest and keep the ball in the area to enable us to reset defensively and get repeat inside 50s. North's skills broke down under pressure last week when Hawthorn got through their early game lack of rotations and started applying pressure to North's transition. North like to switch but they do it like us, slowly. If we make that movement difficult for them we'll get plenty of turnovers.

I'd like to see us lock down on Higgins but apart from that we should be able to match them physically inside. We need a lot from Smith and Milera to get some run and carry going.

We are a far better team than North so should win comfortably. As long as we're switched on defensively.

"We operate in an environment where we must reward people for strong performances” Pyke said

“Hey josh look you didnt play that well last week or the week before but you did boot 8 against Carlton in rd 22 last year so we’re going to back you in and reward that”

“Tex you tore Freo apart in the 2012 Semi so you reap the rewards of that performance”

“David you train really well and are a good runner so you get selected”

Strange move by Pyke dropping Gibbs but at least he is sending a message to the players. Personally I would've dropped Tex and brought in Fog. That would've been a massive statement.

I wonder if the inclusion of said inside mids will allow us to play Sloane a bit more forward of the ball for longer periods. Its an indictment on our front half that hes the most likely to take a mark and put pressure on.

I'd say you might see Sloane and Poholke mix it up down there with a bit of CEY at times.

Gallucci has never been a particularly good SANFL performer. He’s just one of those guys who lifts with the level.

Was an important player last year. Quality player being wasted.

I agree

The one thing I love about Gallucci is his attacking instinct, the moment he gets the ball his first instinct is to always try and take the game on.

He's the player we need to get into our midfield/half forward mix. It's just a shame that Pyke can't see this.

I’ve had enough.

Add two plodders to an already slow midfield on a fast ground.

And please can we all stop thinking Gallucci is the answer.

Screenshot this. Show me in 5 years if I’m wrong. But I’m not; he isn’t going to be the player you think he will be. One of Hamish’s rare **** ups. Although, I do keep hearing that he wanted English, but was overruled.

Anyway, this coaching panel is cooked. Just like the powers at be that made one of best resourced clubs into a breeding ground of poor culture. Just ask the blokes that have left, year after year.

We should have had 1-2 flags in the last 4 years.

And yes, I’m one very jaded supporter.

Have a good night .

Have to disagree with you, I do see something in Gallucci. I don't think he's going to be an elite player, but he's definitely someone who could easily slot into in our best 22 if he was given a regular opportunity.

I wouldn't be surprised if the decision to take Gallucci wasn't a unanimous one, I remember hearing somewhere at the time that we were apparently after Daniel Venables and didn't expect WCE to take him. Maybe with him being off the table threw the cat among the pigeons as to whether to take Gallucci or English with our pick.

I don't mind Gibbs being dropped. It shows some accountability. But our issues were skills and transition into the forward line.

Neither of the ins (IMO) assist with this issue. CEY has traditionally been just a hack forward player or just handball to someone under pressure 1m away.

Polholke...well I don't know because I can't remember seeing him get the ball.

Perhaps they will take Sloane and Brad out if the middle as our players to transition forward.

Overall, Seed and Gibbs looks like 2 outside players out and 2 more inside player in. Plus our skill level looks significantly lower and we are certainly slower...on a fast track.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing Otten play next week

Wow. You are completely wrong on gooch. Will be a very good afl player. His last half of last season showed signs to this. Also reckon you are just following the angry mob on miles. You have no idea
