I cant believe the outrage on this board over Gibbs being dropped.

So many people saying that Gibbs was the "easy target" to drop. Since when????? 99% of this board have whinged and whined about how the senior players all get golden passes.

Gibbs made some ****ing disgusting decisions on the weekend for a "senior player" with 250 games experience. He's absolutely botched kicking out from behinds across games, his shots on goal have been deplorable, and his kicking inside 50 has been the worst of the lot. He has been terrible and deserves to be dropped.

Low and behold we finally dropped a senior player who was way down on form and not because of injury, and everyone turns around and complains he was an "easy target"????? Dropping a Jones or Murphy would have been the easy target ffs! Mackay and Atkins didnt get a lot of the ball yes, but at least they didnt completely **** things up when they did get it! This is also one of the best starts Knight has had to a season, after finally being injury free, but no lets drop him becase Gibbs is the "easy target".

Also people wanting to drop Lynch, spell yourselves. JJ is always a tough one because of our relief ruck scenario, and people wanting Tex dropped need to open their eyes and look at the mountain of unrewarded work Tex did off the ball vs Geelong. He was constantly open on leads and went unused almost all game because our midfield was completely incompetent in getting the ball to him.

The INS are another debate altogether. A little questionable given our team balance. Poholke more than deserves a call up, if it was the right one Im not sure. Maybe we intend to use Sloane and Brouch a lot more on the outside to counteract these selections.
YES YES YES

Pretty obvious you don't watch SANFL very often, Wilson can certainly find the footy at that level, it's what he does next with it that is the big problem, his short - medium passing is diabolical at times and when he pulls the trigger with the booming kick he possesses it's usually to a contested situation and easily knocked of by the opposition defenders.
Doesn't matter for quite a few in the afl team who get half that amount of touches and do similar...I won't pick on the easy targets

They did the following 2 years with pretty similar stats
On that basis, Wayne Carey wasn't very good either
You along with some others need to get over your fascination with Mitch Grigg, he's a very good footballer at the next level.....AFL clubs have had ample opportunities to throw him a lifeline for a number of years but none have chosen to do so....they can't all be wrong. Obviously he has something in his make up they think will be found wanting at the next level.

"We operate in an environment where we must reward people for strong performances” Pyke said

“Hey josh look you didnt play that well last week or the week before but you did boot 8 against Carlton in rd 22 last year so we’re going to back you in and reward that”

“Tex you tore Freo apart in the 2012 Semi so you reap the rewards of that performance”

“David you train really well and are a good runner so you get selected”

He’s full of shit, we’ve never operated that way with long time servants. Nobody else will get dropped.

Jenkins has been dropped before remwmber
The problem is you can point out multiple times when it hasn't been true.

Mackay was dropped and then brought straight back without playing any SANFL. If his performance warranted him being dropped, where did he earn his spot back? Has Jacobs earned his spot back through merit? No, they'll just hand it right back to him next week regardless of how O'Brien looks. The exact same thing will happen with Douglas once he's healthy too.

Greenwood and Gallucci will play 6 weeks of SANFL off injury interrupted pre-seasons before they are even considered for AFL. Douglas will play off a 10 week injury with little to no SANFL

Hahahahahahahahahaha wow, just wow, Lynch has been no where near worst on ground, and 3 blokes at 180cm or shorter can't take contested marks? Consider me shocked :drunk:

Shorter guys should still be able to take contested marks when up against 5hejr direct opponent. But you’re right in that contested marking is largely overrated, what isn’t is taking marks in the forward 50. And our entire forward line is struggling badly in that area.

Shit, not good news for our ruck division

No point ROB being BOG, he’s out next week either way. Unless the internal messaging is different, but why would it be believed if Pyke is publicly selecting Sauce for next week anyway. Nearly no doubt Sauce will be not ready anyway and be putrid for 2 weeks. He won’t run the risk of ROB getting a few games and building into some good form.

It is such a shit message to send to a young player, who is finally getting to have a crack at it.

Why do we feel the need to publicly state that his is basically a seat warmer until Jacobs is 'fit' - who hasn't been playing well anyway?

Where is the pressure, expectation, excitement and encouragement on him to take this opportunity by the balls, and demand selection moving forward?

Doesn't specifically say he'll be playing AFL though. Although it is very likely.
Meh, I thought ROB was awful in the ruck last week. Destroyed by Stanley. Stanley! His follow up work was good, but when you are conceding the tap so easily it often doesn't matter. Goldstein will be a huge challenge
Need a new ruckman that is not Sauce or ROB imo

Matched Sauce in HO to advantage and beat him in every other stat for 2019. Look, he’s not Sauce at his peak, but he’s a better option than Sauce 2019. Not that it matters, Sauce doesn’t play SANFL in 2019. Hell, even carrying a dicky knee he still rucks 100% if the ground. Rucks our goalsquare while JJ us standing 5m away. It’s actually pure stupidity.

aaa

Yes but Hamill is still playing good enough to add to the pressure on MacKay, and pressure on Scholl to keep it up, Yes at this time Scholl would be the first off Cab,
But I still remember the difference between the last couple of years, we did not have 1 player in our SANFL team playing that role and consistently putting pressure on the AFL team to perform most of our halfbacks and small defenders were Top-ups,

As mention when he gets on the Park but the one game he did play he show his potential and give him 5plus games straight and he will make it 3 players putting pressure on MacKay,

Mackay is not getting dropped for a rookie. Seed struggled to get past him, we have a system that looks after the ego of our long term toilers.
