.........Keep learning Whitecross and we'll see you next year as you continue to improve. am happy to lay money anywhere with anyone, that he will not play a game this year. He's still learning:thumbsu:

Get off the cheap seats! Assuming Dew does not play. Lewis and Crawf are doubtful. The only one who may be good to go is Tucky and that is a very big may. Any of those four are walk ups. It may well be a choice of Whitey, Grima, Moss and your man Suckers!

Kanga is not a midfielder...

kicking skills rated at 3/10. Doesnt have a tank for AFL midfield. watched him closely with Xavier and have watched him closely at the Hills.

This is what everyone said about mitchell as a youngster so good times ahead for joey.

Honestly don't think clarko will be changing the team around much, he likes the same group of players playing.

In: Lewis, Crawf
Out: Dew (although the website suggests differently), Clarke

Would obviously love to see hodgey back but would rather him miss if he's not 100% or he'll risk another 3 weeks out.

Everyone keeps talking about clarkes run is awesome but in the end when you can't hit a target or get a contested possession then pure run isn't much good.

And if anyone has been following articles on the website you will realise the only way kennedy will be out is if hodge and co all come back. Remember that most players playing their first game will come in for a role on the half forward line or half back line, maybe a wing for a bit to ease into the game. Whereas kennedy was thrown in with mitch and sewell 7 minutes into the game. Taking nerves into account he played a good game, much better than clarke or young.

Gee everyone on hear is so fickle - one minute you want Kennedy and then he plays his first game you want him gone! Can't understand sometimes. He has the skills and the potential it was his first game and as far as I was concerned he played a good game, nervous in the begining but once he got use to the tempo he was fine, has a good size about him too.

Murphy wasn't as bad as everyone states, how many goals did he have kicked against him, Gilham and Croad had more against them so if that is the reason why he should be dropped then Croad and Gilham can line up for Box Hill - not that I want that.

Leave Hodge for another week if he is not 100% as a hammie can come back and bit you big time if he pushes it to hard.

Young will play - he has his best games in Aurora's open spaces.

If Crawf is ok then Clarke will move out, Lewis in for probably Morton although he didn't play too bad for his first game as well.

Stop hanging players after one game!

We need to get most of the fab six back in the midfield(Hodge, Mitchell, Sewell, Bateman, Lewis & Crawford) because our midfield looked vulnerable on the weekend, too much was left to Mitch, Sewelly & Changa on Sunday. Hopefully Lewis and Crawf come in this week, would love Hodgey to come back but the risk is far too great this early in the season.

Can See Lewis back Hope Crawf can get up aswel

As for Changes

The Melb game

Clark Kennedy Morton and Murphy. IMO no of them set the world on fire. In Kennedy and Morton its their first game (be realistic)

If we get back Crawf and Lewis I would let Murphy and Morton back to the twos

Clark get another chance due to the fact we are playing the doggies and atleast he can match their run.

Kennedy needs to improve his kicking. Can see him becoming a playing if he works on his foot skill and gets to be a bit more athletic. (aka Lewis and Brown)

IF Travis tuck is fit and ready would rush him back as well in place of K3

Do you have a source in regards to the Crawf comment??
Blow for Hawks' midfield

Jake Niall | May 29, 2008

HAWTHORN'S midfield faces a major challenge on Saturday, with Shane Crawford doubtful for the Launceston blockbuster against the Western Bulldogs, the game in which Luke Hodge will be absent again.
While Crawford has finished his latest suspension for an indiscretion in the last Tasmanian game against Port Adelaide, the 1999 Brownlow medallist is still hampered by a sore knee which, according to football manager Mark Evans, will be assessed today.
More likely than not, Crawford will miss out, which makes the availability of skipper Sam Mitchell all the more significant, considering that the Hawthorn midfield would otherwise be significantly depleted — already without Hodge and probably Crawford — against one of the better running outfits in the competition.
Mitchell did not hesitate to accept his reprimand for tripping against Melbourne, rather than contest the charge and risk suspension. He is now ineligible for the Brownlow.
Hodge suffered a bad hamstring tear back in round seven against Collingwood, which might keep him out for four matches.
Hawthorn's struggles to defeat Melbourne were in part due to the Demons' intensity and commitment, but the unbeaten Hawks also were significantly down on midfield manpower, with Hodge and Crawford missing, and the increasingly influential Jordan Lewis a late withdrawal.
The Hawks had to rely heavily on a small number of midfielders, especially Brad Sewell, Mitchell and Chance Bateman, who performed well and looms as a critical player against the fleet-of-foot Bulldogs. The Bulldogs will have the stronger running division, but an obvious vulnerability to Hawthorn's tall forwards Lance Franklin and Jarryd Roughead.

Kanga is not a midfielder...

kicking skills rated at 3/10...Jobe Watson like. Doesnt have a tank for AFL midfield. watched him closely with Xavier and have watched him closely at the Hills.

With his body size he will become a half bank flanker just like his dad. Lock it in Eddie.

Not sure on Morton either. Cant see what all the excitement surrounding him is. Maybe i am being to harsh but just trying to call it as i see it.

Out Morton Kennedy Dew
In Hodge Lewis Crawford

Clarkey gets another crack cause the Dogs have a heap of runners.

Can we all just take a deep breath and remember that last week was Kennedy and Mortons first game in the big league! Wow we are quick to judge players theses days ..... Kennedy just a half back flanker? Kennedy's kicking style is actually quite good, in time and when he gets used to the pace of senior footy he will improve considerably, one things for sure he knows how to get the footy in the guts and his huge frame is an obvious advantage, Morton got 8 possessions in the first quarter of Sundays game, most players in there first hitout would be lucky to get 8 possessions in there first match total

Very happy with both those guys debuts, due to injury and suspension they were always going to be given more responsibility than they were ready for, but handled it pretty well

As for the ins, cant see either Hodge or Crawford being fit this week, so one change only Lewis for Dew

Hi men.

Look I'm sorry I've seen Whitecross at 3 BH games and seen him in the back pocket on a few occassions literally 5 metres from me leaning over the fence by the jumpy castles, and I've got to say, his reaction time to the flow of the game whilst the ball is in his mits is shithouse. He appears to be a regular sprinter to get himself open for an uncontested possession from kick outs but jesus he is not busting the bladder with match winning skills????

Keep learning Whitecross and we'll see you next year as you continue to improve. am happy to lay money anywhere with anyone, that he will not play a game this year. He's still learning:thumbsu:

BR I'll be happy to take some of your hard earned off you...:thumbsu:

Whitecross' game last week for Box Hill was excellent. His disposal by foot on both sides was outstanding to say the least.

He played a half of football in defence, 1 qtr up forward and his last qtr in the middle was outstanding.

I watched the BH tape last night (and that takes some effort because the game was appauling) and only focused on BW game, backwards and forwards on the old foxtel IQ....excellent

The Kid is guranteed to debut THIS YEAR. barring injury...wouldn't suprise me to see him debut this week..:thumbsu:

He was the ONLY player last week who manned the mark as the senior players do by rushing to the mark and point to the spot which tellls me he is focused, knows what is required of him and more importantly knows he is been watched for promotion to the seniors and to see if he carries out the Team rules.

That is why he played in a number of positions last week.

Watch this space...won't be long for BW and if afew of the lads haven't come up from last week me thinks he will get a run in the seniors this week..:thumbsu:

i think thats a pretty good assessmant, lets get real josh and morts played their 1st games at a critical stage were they are replacing top players, so of course people are going to judge them harshly, but i realy want josh to get more game time he is big and strong wich is what i love about these young hawks...

some posters in here belong on the richmond board..........
