Not a massive Ras fan (his handballing might be the worst I have seen from a "mid") but if we want to see if he can improve we shouldn't be dropping him after one game. Just let him play 2-3 games in a row, if he still looks a step behind drop him when Young is ready to return.

His ceiling is probably Matt Deboer. Worse hands but a longer/marginally better kick. Certainly not the kind of player you'd spend a top 10 pick on but at least he has the potential to be a decent role player in the future. His sheer size and ability to pressure and tackle is something lacking in our midfield rotation. I think under a coach that valued tagging more he'd be even more useful.

I'm 100% expecting Shai to be a late withdrawal and then be in and out of the team all year never managing to get a clean run at it.

Murphy Reid played way better than Banfield last week on every single metric - disposals, disposal efficiency, contested possessions, score involvements, goal assists, metres gained, tackles, pressure acts, etc etc despite only playing 68% game time to Banfields 79%

They aren't that stupid. They know what they've got with Reid.
I doubt he'll ever play WAFL although I suppose it might get tight if Fyfe, Young, Walters are all fit & available together later in the year. Even so I'd find a way to play him.
