The only other option was McLarty who hasnt played back all year.......or to send McLarty forward and Mihocek back which is something Buckley has avoided (prefers like to like and its been successful so far) .

Agree. Long Term Murphy be way better player then Oxley but not ready yet.

IF McLarty was playing Down Back at VFL Level he Probably would of come in

I understand your enthusiasm about Murphy, and I have high hopes for him, but he still looks very raw at VFL. We'll blood him at some stage, but right now Oxley --with some semi-decent VFL form-- is a better option to stem the bleeding in our back line.

At best, he's a semi-useful defensive winger who starts on the logo at the centre bounce and slides back to be the loose man across the half back line.

The problem is, once he gets paired up and forced to set-up deep, he stops being semi-useful and starts being a liability.

They are a very good young team who have played some fantastic footy throughout the year without reward. Their forward line will stretch us. North pumped West Coast and then fell in the week after because Rayner missed from 25 metres. Tell North how laughable Brisbane are.
