You can't kick safely up the line if you never win it. They have been undercoached. We have no structures around the ball or at the fall of the ball and the have no reaction time when the ball hits the ground.
JL, probably hoped we could use our run and stun to move the ball on most occasions but teams are making it difficult so we need to set-up properly up the line if that is the only option.
Think he covered this pretty well in the press conference. What they don't want to always be doing is kicking up the line all the time. Sometimes you have to but yes you need the support at the drop.

The defense coming out the back are so predictable atm.

Maybe have Brodie sub... Bring him on after half time. Knowing he only has a half to play he doesn't need worry his tank running on empty. Also take advantage when the opposition mids tire

And 90% of that is Luke Ryan. I don't think he ever does a forward kick where he actually has a target in mind. All of his kicks are 50m bombs that get turned over the next posession. The other 10% is Alex Pearce running 50 meters back before he takes his kick.

I don't think any of the others are that as bad. They'll have the occasional bomb but will most of the time try and hit up a shorter target or take the game on.

Yep. Both these two. As soon as they mark it they need to looking to pass off.. Better if by handball.. That dinky kick by ryan to the opposition lol he doesn't have the finesse of the bont to be doing those

Frustrating because Bulldogs just handball it out of the 50 during a kick in, drawing in a Fremantle player each time. It was just night and day. Kick 15-20 m inside.
Fremantle’s zoning sucks tol

Aish imo had never really played a bad game for freo up until recently. He would have had some incredibly average games, but I had never had him in my outs, and he was never in my vents after a loss.

But this season - namely the past few games - he has been incredibly bad. Some of his work on the wing today was so lazy. Incredibly dissapointing after what he showed last year, and in a time where he was meant to be the lock for one of our wing spots.
There’s 15-20 players that have had incredibly bad games. The drop off is significant.
Aish needs to go back to defence.

Clark shouldn’t be down back getting none of the ball to break the lines. Him and Walker should be one or even both on the wing.

Not saying he should be dropped but Jackson didn’t do enough tonight to half the contes and bring the ball down. Amiss, Sturt and Corbett are lead up types! The onus is on Jackson to mark the high ones or at least bring it to ground.

Was much better the last couple of weeks in that regard.

He’s not a winger. He is a run with or I’d send Ryan to Peel and put Aish at half back,

young, Chapman and Noddy on to the wings

Saints: No Key Forwards
North: Larkey 4 goals
West Coast: Allen 3.3
Adelaide: Walker 4 goals
Suns: King 2 goals
Dogs: Naughton 3.2

Take out the Saints game and his direct opponent is averaging over 4 scoring shots a game. Only really got the better of King, and even then the Suns incompetence towards the end of the game made that easier for him. If any other player was putting up those numbers they'd be dropped. But bc he has the C next to his name he's going nowhere.

King is in even worse form than AP I believe back off the knee.

There will be no changes ,there is something very very wrong with this club.We were lucky to beat the suns and west coast and I think we are currently the worst team in the comp.Brisbane will flog us and Longmuir doesn't have the answers,he has lost the group

Hmmm.. Although we will probably get smashed, it might be good thing with no expectations, they might play better.

Lol at the drop Banfield and/or Wagner calls.

If you’re thinking that will solve the problem, I’ve got some news for you.

Those types of players (and Hughes) should be last picked, they'll never be the types that will stand up in September. Get games into those with the potential, and move some of our good players from defence to the midfield.
