You can't kick safely up the line if you never win it. They have been undercoached. We have no structures around the ball or at the fall of the ball and the have no reaction time when the ball hits the ground.
JL, wrongly imo actually thinks we can use our run and stun to move the ball on most occasions and doesn't allow for the fact that teams are not going to let us do it so we need to set-up properly up the line if that is the only option.
You make good points.

Wtf did we train this year?

I would inject Erasmus. I would trial Walker or someone with speed in there.

Brayshaw needs a spell. Body isn’t right.

Brodie deserves another crack. Thought Jaegar was good at times..

Serong a bull, but disposal was bad at times.
Serong gave too much room for Treloer and Treloer was a hell of a lot more damaging than Serong was. I don't care how many possessions Serong got, he got beaten tonight. I say all this without watching a replay.
Jager was better last week.
Erasmus needs to come in. We agree on that one.
We are getting no drive from the wings. Williams was way too damaging for Aish. Hughes does a few good things and the rest is soft rubbish. Seems now that he is a wingman he doesn't think he has to tackle.. he is slow and soft in this role, just kicking well into the forward line on the rare occasion he gets the ball.
Brayshaw, should, but won't be dropped/rested .
Walker is turning into a soft turnover machine.
Need to get Young out of the backline, he isn't always a great defender and we need his kicking up the ground.

Mate you don’t get it. The ball movement and structure up the field is catered for a slow kick style along the wings with safety of the boundary. Bringing in ball carriers with nothing presenting up the field is a coaching structure issue.

They have been over coached and we got away with it having Mundy, Acres, Logue and lesser extent Lobb as avenues around the ground.
Yep, we got away with it because All 4 of those guys are much stronger marks than the blokes who have replaced them.

Alex Pearce out and out as captain too

I want a dozen blokes dropped, but I don’t see how we can. We really shouldn’t be going less experienced that’s a recipe for even more pain.

NOD in, Wagner out, Hughes back

johnson might need a break so ras could come in for him.

thought Corbett was pretty good when he came on.

what we really need is pressure around the contest and willingness to take the game on.

In: Erasmus, Treacy, Corbett
Out: JOM, Banfield, Ryan

Honestly play Hamling in and Ryan out just to keep him the * away from kick ins. Putrid tonight
I honestly thought JOM played better than Brodie tonight.

Reckon Andy gets rested anyway fwiw. No point flying him over for a Brisbane loss.

Stuff it bring some young blokes in.

We are having to face Brisbane at the Gabba. We all know what the result is gonna Be.

Gonna be similar like tonight and the crows game 2 weeks ago.

We will score 8-10 goals and the Brisbane side is gonna score 15-17 goals.

If that's the case, play the kids. Don't care if Erasmus and worner gets in.

I would bring in Kuek. But seeing Sam Sturt and Josh Corbett play tonight, both blokes deserve another game based on what they have shown.

Sam Sturt played some smart footy tonight. He showed some good running patterns, then took leads and marked.

He kicked 2 goals tonight. Both were beautiful set shots. So did Frederick.

One poster asked if Frederick was a Forward. Frederick kicked 28 goals last season.

Also Lachie Schulz kept his streak tonight. It's 6 games in and he has at least scored 1 goal in each game this season.

Dockers do have a forward line, it's just inconsistent.

Need to get Erasmus in if he is going to cop a tag playing in the wafl.. give the kids some support and a chance to develop at the higher level
We are losing anyway. May as well get something out of the season. Looks like Sturt and Corbett might be ok. Johnson is doing some good things.

Next week is going to get really embarrassing for this club when we get absolutely annihilated by Brisbane.
This club is in a bad rut and I cannot see our way out of it in the immediate future, the team's dysfunctional and lacks complete confidence

Forward line is the least of our worries. Happy with the mix. Take out Banfield for Corbett, and it’s okay. Build upon that.
The midfield is dog shit.
Aish doesn’t fit anywhere. Have 4 of the same players in Serong, Brodie, JOM, Aish. There’s no change up, no X factor. It’s boring.

Throw in Jackson, throw in Young, throw in Frederick or Schultz even. Add pace, add grunt. Aish and JOM are slow as on the outside. So easy to burn them off. Bonts destroyed JOM every centre bounce.

Can't believe I'm saying this but the forward line is really not the biggest issue at the moment. If our ball movement is good then it's more than capable of putting up 100. In both our wins they have been able to put up 100+. Those shit teams allowed us to move the ball quicker and surprise surprise the forward line of nobodies can easily put up 100.

Our midfielders are getting destroyed so badly that all the posession is coming from half back. And enough has been said about them.

Aish imo had never really played a bad game for freo up until recently. He would have had some incredibly average games, but I had never had him in my outs, and he was never in my vents after a loss.

But this season - namely the past few games - he has been incredibly bad. Some of his work on the wing today was so lazy. Incredibly dissapointing after what he showed last year, and in a time where he was meant to be the lock for one of our wing spots.

We seem to need to solidify our defence and improve our midfield. Last year I thought those two areas were sorted...mostly anyway. Was a bit concerned how our midfield got completely wiped sometimes.

He would be better back in defence. We need something more solid down there.

The highest score we conceded last year was 91 vs port. We won that game after they piled on what felt like 10 goals in the last quarter. Did not conceded more than 90 points all year apart from that game.

We've just conceded higher than that for 3 weeks in a row.
