Quite an extended interchange there for next week

Would make a huge statement, and drop some big name players.

Out: Gibbs, Murphy, Carrazzo.
In: some kids who want to prove a point.

OUT: :thumbsu:, :thumbsu:, :thumbsu:, Lucas, Walker
IN: Fisher, Warnock, Ellard, Davies, Hadley.

Hadley will give us that grunt around the middle we have been severly lacking. Play Warnock and Sauce in a ruck tandem with Hammer as a perminant forward. Fisher and Waite will allow for 3 strong marking forwards the the smalls can do their job, without having to try and be that main forward target.

Davies and Ellard deserve a crack.....

I think Joseph must be dropped, I suppose Carrazzo too and in a perfect world it would be nice to drop Gibbs to give him a wake-up call but we have blown our chance at a guaranteed finals berth...we need him there just to scrape through.
Bitterly disappointing today, I think it's time to bring in Fisher for sure.

I would line up like this:

B: Walker Jamison Russell
HB: Armfield Bower Tuhoy
C: Johnson Ellard Simpson
HF: Garlett Henderson Yarran
F: Betts Waite Robinson
OB: Jacobs Judd Murphy
IC: Walker Davies Joseph Grigg
EM: Austin Scotland Fisher

IN: Ellard, Tuhoy, Davies, Johnson
OUT: Gibbs, Carrazzo, Lucas (inj), Walker (Susp.) of cleared then Scotland.

Time we played some youth and put some well performing young tough keen players into our side and give our midfield a real shake.
Get rid of a few useless players who are willing to only do the easy stuff.

Richmond have done it and got results by dropping some very talented but soft players.
St. Kilder did it to Dal Santo and Milne. Collingwood have done it to Lockyer and Anthony and the Bulldogs have done it to Aker and Eagleton.

It's about time we stepped up to the plate and sent the message to our weak core group that if they aren't willing to play as leaders and play with some heart that we'll bring in some fresh young players who will.

No point running down the clock with the side we've got. We gain nothing by that except the dwindling delusion that we're good enough to play finals. Time to take a look at everyone on the list and write off 2010 as a development year.

We may as well blood guys like Tuohy, Davies, Cachia, Ellard, Donaldson, Kerr, and even Casboult as watch this shit.

Out:
Lucas (Inj), Carrazzo, Gibbs, Joseph, Robinson (if Hoops in)

In:
Ellard, Davies, Fisher, Johnson, Houlihan (if fit)

Davies to take Joseph's role and add some attack

Ellard into the middle

Houlihan straight swap for Robinson

Johnson to attack from the halfback flank up the wing and Waite to run the other wing with Fisher in the goal square.

Carrazzo has to go, has this guy ever laid a shephard.

Ellard can come in & play the tagger role with far more hardness & team ethic.

A lot of Gibbs anger at present, don't drop him yet. Stop matching him up on someone & let him play. Wouldn't mind seeing him given a go as a permanent forward.

As much as I like the 3 small forwards I think we are lacking some hard bodies down forward to make tackles stick & keep the ball in F50.

In saying that we have no one to do these roles.

Out: Carrazzo,Lucas,Joseph, Robbo or Walker

In: Ellard, Johnson,Davies,Fisher

B: Armfield Jamison Russell
HB: Bower Henderson Walker
C: Simpson Grigg Johnson
HF: Yarran Fisher Gibbs
F: Betts Waite Garlett

R: Jacobs Judd Murphy

Int: Hampson Ellard Davies Scotland

Carrazzo has to go, has this guy ever laid a shephard.

This is so true.

He is not alone on that, mind you, but what the **** is he thinking? Countless times he just seems to be cruising through the middle of the ground trying to set himself up to receive a useless two metre handpass instead of helping out his teammate properly.

It's yet another frustratingly selfish attitude from a supposedly senior player.

As far as I'm concerned, Waite is the only one that looks like he cares out there.

In:
Ellard - Another best on performance for the ants, continues to dominate for them and definately deserves a run for the seniors after our discraceful last 2 weeks, in for Lucas.

Houlihan - Not 100% sure whether he is fit to play but sources say he is a chance to play this week and in that case he needs to come back into the side for Walker if he is infact suspended which is looking likely at the moment. If he is selected he will need to forward tag most likely Hurn or possibly Waters.

Fisher - 12 goals in the past 3 weeks for the ants, successful and consistant return from LARS surgery and is ready to go. Provides a marking option up forward and after his persistence he definately is ready for the seniors. Comes in for Robinson considering that our forward 50 entries have been shit lately he can take a good grab.

Out:
Lucas - Obviously very unlucky with his injury but thats just footy sometimes.

Walker - Should be kept in the side although his disposal is woeful he knows how to find the ball. His bump in the 4th quarter looked bad and unfortunately he looks as if he will get suspended and miss this week.

Robinson - He has provided us with some grunt occasionaly throughout the year but hes been shit lately. Skills arent up to AFL standard, decision making is shocking and he just needs a spell with the ants to get his confidence back up.

Stupid tagging roles - Ratten needs to stop having 4 tagging roles a game as he did in the last two games and they all just havent worked as hes been using non-taggers to do this. We need to stick with just the 2 tags which is Carazzo tagging in the midfield as hes done this well when hes needed to and Houlihan with the forward tagging role as this has worked for us on many occasions.

Potential changes:
Warnock in for Hampson but not sure about this. The last 2 weeks Hampson has been shit in the 1st half when the game is there to be won and then pops up in the 2nd half when the game is done and dusted which isnt good enough and we know Warnock will bring 100% effort to every game.

Future changes:
McLean to take the position of Grigg when he is back to full fitness as this is just a no brainer.

White into the defense when he is fit as he plays the roll of Thornton but he plays it better.

We need to also consider that there might be a lack of quality that we are able to pick up in the next 2 drafts so we need to breed the youngsters that we already have on our list.

In: Fisher, Johnson, Ellard, Houlihan (if fit)
Out: Lucas, Carrazzo, Robinson, Gibbs (it pains me to say this, but I think Bryce needs a wake-up call).

IMO Walker should not be suspended as he did not make contact with his opponent's head, rather it was virtually shoulder to shoulder contact.

I think we should play Joseph in a midfield tagging role instead of fullback  and drop Carrazzo.
Joseph is young and can lay a shepherd. People were actually cheering him when he did it today because it's so rare from us these days

In:

Pavlich, Hodge, Lake, Brown, Roo, Swann ....

it wouldn't make a difference - Ratten will still find a way to set us up so that we have fcuk all structure on the park.

RATTEN !!! PLEASE !!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD !! PLAY BRYCE ON THE heckin' BALLL !!!!

OUT: Lucas(inj), Walker(susp/omit), Carrazzo, Hendo or Waite, Telstra Dome.
IN: Ellard(why the hell not), Hoops, Wiggins(yes Wiggins), Fisher, MCG

Would also consider dropping Gibbs, AJ or Simmo.
Hammer and Grigg who are the borderline players done enough to keep their spots this week.

Outs: Jacobs, Garlett, Lucas, Carrazzo
Ins: Warnock, Ellard, Fisher, Houlihan

Jacobs has been poor the last month and got smashed today by Mumford. Hampson keeps his spot by showing signs around the ground. Garlett was very poor today (except late when the game was over). When he has a bad one, he has no impact on the game and goes with one hand rather than put his head over the ball. Carrazzo has been poor for a while and today made so many bad decision with the ball. Got a feeling ratts loves him though and he wont get dropped.

Fisher must come in, we need another marking forward and he seems in good touch. Ellard i dont rate but was named in best and was emergency last week.

On a side note, thought grigg was good today, good run, good in close and disposal was top notch.

Need to understand that Joseph will be taken to full back no matter who he plays on as a tagger, Ablett did it and most teams are doing it regardless of who he plays on... why??? because he has absolutely no talent or ability to do anything else and the opposition teams see him as a weak link and isolate him in the defensive goal square!!!

They more or less do what basketball teams do!!! they take him down to the "low post" and absolutely destroy him because its a mismatch in size and ability.

There is no low post area on the footy field but they do take him to a scoring area to exploit him, should not be playing senior footy I am afraid. Do you think Shaw started deep forward today??? or did he take our weak link there by design???

Agree.:thumbsu: They can't play any worse than some of current senior players are atm and it would great for their development and experience.

Would bring Ellard in to replace Lucas who is injured.

Unless Walker get suspended, no more changes. Was a pretty decent effort today, Sydney were just too good. Looking forward to next week.

:)

LOL jks? :p

If Carrazzo gets a game next week. I will cut my membership up. He shouldn't be playing AFL... even VFL.

In: 100% fit and motivated players
Out: Players who are coasting and not 100% fit

If Henderson and Betts aren't 100%, don't pick them.

Betts was receiving physiotherapy a day or so before the game.

That sounds NQR to this lay person.

We're too scared to coach our way to a win because we field our best 22 with niggling injuries.

See Brock Mclean.

Bower came straight back into the side without a VFL game.

And then re-injured his quad.
