I think rather they have no idea what they're supposed to do. Werner never seems sure when to make runs and midfielders never seem sure when to pass to him as one example. Puli and CHO should be taking on more players but the game plan looks to be get it to the full backs to cross yet another ineffective attempt. When was the last we actually scored from a decent break in attack?

Last three games Frank has rotated starts at striker for Giroud, Werner and Tammy. That's not helping any of them and gives the impression Lampard doesn't know how to use them effectively.
Pulisic goal vs Leeds?

So, who do we want?

Tuchel for me.
Personally, I would've liked Mauricio Pochettino but that won't happen. Potentially Massimiliano Allegri for mine. I can't see them going for an English manager, but one's thing for sure, I'm ****ing sick and tired of this coaching merry go round that has existed at this club for the past 20 years. Off the top of my head, but either Ranieri or Mourinho's first stint was probably the longest tenure we've had at the club and when I think about it, I've followed Chelsea since about 1985 as a 5 year old and I can barely recall a manager lasting longer than 4 seasons. Overall Mourinho is the manager with the greatest longevity across his two stints, but geez, what you'd give for some longevity out of a manager.

Given Roman's form though, surely Frank is a dead man walking.

Not too keen on Allegri. We've been down the Italian manager path and from memory a lot of Juve fans believe he should have got a lot more out of the team he had, especially in Europe.

Got to give him till the end of the year surely. This was always a long term thing and he’s basically had to start again this year with an entirely different starting 11, albeit much better players. It’s disappointing given the money we spent but sacking him now is the easy way out. Bring in a new manager, who will then waste the next 6 months before overhauling the squad with his own style of players yet again.

People want longevity but for us to be title challengers in a managers second year with players who haven’t played a whole lot together.

I think Franks first move from here needs to be establishing a preferred front 6 and sticking with them. CHO, Werner, Ziyech, Havertz, Mount and Kanté would be where I’d be starting. Let them learn how each other play, what type of runs they make, where they’ll be etc.

Too much chopping and changing. I appreciate that players need a rest and we do have a lot of quality attacking players trying to get a game. But he needs to have a set starting 11 and make the changes from there. Not just rotate players through games just because.

I think its a pretty stupid loan all round. He'll sit on a bench for 6 months.

Sorry to intrude but I really don't get why our two clubs can't agree to loan Tomori for the rest of the season. He'd be playing every week at a high level for the rest of the season and we wouldn't be after a buy option clause like AC Milan is. I know it may be looked at as "helping a rival" but it honestly makes logical sense for both clubs and the player.

I guess coz you aren't interested.

Call me greedy or ungrateful, but I didn't see anything in the win against Luton that inspired me whatsoever.

Werner, Pulisic, Kepa and a few other were shithouse and the usual lads were their productive selves; Mount, Zouma and Ziyech and obviously Tammy had one out of the bag and is all you can ask of your striker.

I don't know about others, but this is one Chelsea squad I just don't get excited watching play and to be honest find them rather painful to watch.

Perhaps my expectations are too high...

I thought Werner put in a shift and tried his guts out, but wasn't great. But i still dont see the point of playing him if we dont play him to his strengths, seems we are trying to make him a winger/attacking mid and he just doesn't have the skill sets for that.

Shattered he missed the pen, he looked distraught and hes just a shadow of tye footballer i watch last season.

He was regularly available for a cutback near the penalty spot but almost every time it went across the six yard area where nobody is quick enough to attack for whatever reason.

He got involved plenty. That shape was much more suited to him and much more similar to what Leipzig used with him and Schick (Tammy in his role).

Fair enough mate, not how i saw it. But hopefully he can turn it around soon as the last thing we need is another high profile flop.

I don't think Werner was shithouse at all. Thought he played very well actually, without scoring.
Each to their own, but for mine, if that is one of his better performances, then I'm even more unconvinced.

Of the off-season spending, Ziyech is the only one that I've been impressed with. Werner and Mendy are meh and Havertz looks a bust at this very, very early stage. I'd love nothing more than for all of them to turn it around and perhaps they will in their second season's, particularly Havertz who just hasn't shown anything to warrant the fee paid for him. I still wish we'd have taken Declan Rice or players that are already adjusted the EPL.

God the negativity man
I'm rarely negative about Chelsea, but c'mon, if you've been impressed by Werner and Havertz and satisfied with our current 9th place in the EPL and uninspiring win over Luton bloody Town, then all I can say is that I wish I could see where you are getting positives from, because I'm seriously struggling.
