Reckon that was our best first half under Tuchel. Kante world class, Werner's movement so dangerous and Havertz was simply superb. Kova and Ziyech were great too and awesome that Pulisic got an assist and Emerson scored late on, confidence boosters for sure! Quarter finals here we come!!!

Thought Kante has been exceptional the past few weeks he's played.

Surely time to give Giroud or Tammy another run at CF.
Tammy is very underrated, probably because he didn't come with a price tag. Natural poacher who isn't flash but has a knack of finding the back of the net and his selfishness is often what we need. Giroud is just criminally underused. Love Werner's effort but my word is first touch is horrid and breaks down so many plays.

5 points lost to West Brom this season. Hopefully they go down cos I don't want them to be ours and Silva's bogey team for anither season!

The problem with Werner is hes a one trick pony, yeah that tricks ****ing awesome when we play teams are pushing up high. But against the majority of epl teams who sit back against us hes a bit useless. Plus he has a shit first touch and a lack of technical ability allowing him to play as a winger or AM.

Its a real worrying signing.

One game has thrown the wheels off the cart?

Tammy has been out a while cos of injury don't forget.

Havertz is likely going to be the main choice for the CF position I'd say going forward.

And while he's not scoring, Werner is in literally everything we do when attacking. Shit first touch? Come on, look at how he set up Mount's goal.

It was a bad day but I don't think it's worth doom posting so soon.

Maybe waking up feeling like this hasnt helped

But yeah, compared to other similar level footballer Werner does have a shit first touch and its clearly not his strength. But he has other WC strengths but we dont get to use them enough.

Tammy has been fit for a while now, i just dont think hes in Tuchels plans. Hopefully Havertz can hold that number 9 spot.

Love to see Gilmour now get a decent shot in place of Jorginho, deserves to be dropped after last night.

Zouma isnt a Chelsea level footballer either sadly as much as i love him. Rudiger deserves that spot over him. And Guehi or Tomori need to replace his squad spot next season.

Zouma next to Silva was immense at the start of the season but him and Christensen just don't work together.

Jorginho has been good under Tuchel until yesterday but have been craving to see more of Gilmour.

Not all gloom and doom, was pretty obvious Tuchel's team selection prioritised CL and we were looking fine until the 10 men. Just frustrating how we imploded after that.

Just a really spineless performance, we were just completely rattled after Silva was sent off and could be the difference between 4th and 5th (luckily Spurs slipped up and we're still 4th for the time being). Shipping 5 to West Brom who can barely score is pretty embarrassing, luckily for us, they're still going down.

Perfect result. My goodness Mount is elite. He really proves that we should be utilising our academy more instead of splashing big bucks on transfers.

Werner's first touch continues to make Lukaku look like Zidane

There's still a real mental fragility that goes back to even Sarri's days (and he spoke about it often). Tuchel brought it up post game here as well.

Werner and Havertz consistently make runs in behind but almost never is the ball given to them. It so often goes sideways or backwards instead and it stems from a fear of losing the ball. James does it a ton. If he's not in the final third, he passes sideways or back almost like clockwork.
You could make a huge compilation video from this season of examples of this.

Also playing Havertz up front then lumping balls to him as if he were Giroud was clearly not the right game plan because Pepe but Tuchel also said this wasn't the plan and was a bit of shellshock from the West Brom game from the defenders. Too concerned about giving the ball away in their own half so they just got rid.

He said at half time to pass through the press, not over it, and trust that your teammates will get a good touch. They did it and we were a lot better second half.
