Thought Mount looked really good and not out of his depth. We've got a few to come back in over the next few weeks so plenty of improvement to come.

I was a bit surprised Pedro started over Pulisic, didnt have a very good preseason. But i guess he wants to ease Pulisic in.
The sooner Kante, Rudiger and CHO are fully fit the better.
But i am worried about Azpi and his form and loss of a step. With Frank talking James up after the game the captain looks in a bit of danger.
Obviously losing 4-0 is unacceptable, but i wasn't that disheartened by the actual performance.
Kante,Rudiger,Hudson-Odoi & Pulisic all need to be starting when fit. Ruben probably, not to mention Frank seems very high on Reece James..that's half our starting XI
Are we going to challenge for the title? no, but top 4 shouldn't be out of the question this season imo.

I thought for 55 minutes we looked good, much better than I thought we would. Different story if that great Tammy strike goes in rather than rattles the post. Devastated for Zouma but he just looked exposed, Rudiger back will help but realistically we are playing CL Football and we are going to need Zouma to perform. Kante was missing in that midfield, Jorginho and Kovacic just don't offer enough protection, as evidenced by the devastating counter attacks that split us open.
Definitely wasn't a nice feeling at 3am having watched the last 35 minutes of play.

I think despite the loss, we played a really good game. Mount and Pulisic looked really really good. Lots of positive signs.

Yeah it was a great effort and pens are always a toss of the coin anyway.
Thats the effort we need to bring every game, do that and top 4 should be made.

Bit early for me on a Thursday to tune in, but was glad to hear we put in a good performance. Had a message from a mate at half time saying it was the best first half performance he'd seen in years. Will hit up the mini match after work I think!

How great is it seeing the academy kids performing well. Mount and Christensen have looked up to our level so far. Tomori stepped up this morning and didnt get embarrassed, Tammy looks to have the tools just needs to take his chances and CHO, James and RLC still to come after returning from injury.
Theres every chance we'll see all 7 play together at some stage, thats just nuts.

Mason Mount has been a big surprise, genuinely didn't know much about him before pre-season started. He's clearly good enough to be playing regularly for Chelsea.
I think Tammy is in for a tough season personally, but it's sort of expected with a 21 year old striker leading the line. Need to pump as many games into him this season as possible.

Welp. Here's some thoughts.
Let's start with the negatives.
Pulisic is truly average. I hope it's just adjustment to the league but he's probably going to fall behind Pedro, who at least offers something defensively.
Azpi is just having a nightmare start to the year. So regularly out of position, so regularly beaten. Not getting any help from the wingers though.
Zouma... Just not up to it. Should have been the one dropped, not Christensen.
Willian is absolute garbage. Selfish, not urgency, constantly coming inside despite being a winger. Useless. Offers so very little.
And Frank... Why did we not go more defensive? How did they have so much space? For someone who played under Mourinho, surely he'd know a bit about killing the game. Glad to see Gilmour debut but was it really the time?

Tammy getting another brace is fantastic for his confidence.
