We used to have tournaments in the holidays. My brother came at me with a baseball bat after I beat him in the grand final... and ended up smashing a light shade as he lifted it over my head. Was banned in our house for a while after that.

Scotland Yard needed three people iirc... made it hard for me and my mate.

Also Monopoly would ALWAYS end in an argument over the rules at our house.

The BEST game ever was this:

I would STILL play this game today if I could.

I also had this one

Mates and i played this a lot:

Did anyone evr play Billionaire? 'twas briefly popular about 20 years ago - great fun.

Used to play Billionaire all the time with the family growing up. We lost the game for a while then one day I found it in K-Mart or Big W and got it. My mates and I then continued to play purely because it was awesome screaming the whole way through the game... 1111111...2222....4.44444 :D haha

I had the above version but gave it to a friend and now have the "newer" one which you can still get from most big stores.

This

And most definitely this

I only really ever used the questions from the first couple of pages so I ended up knowing the answers off by heart

Loved Sale of the Century, only problem was you needed 3 or more to play all the time.

All you need is 1 hour and a VCR player.

Best game EVER! So good we still have the original VCR edition of it :D

The last one in the top of page post we called a spirograph :D Loved those , not a board game though- more a toy.

the best classic board games are still these:

Same problem i had with my wheel of fortune game (nice old one with Burgo and his dirty big mo on the front). After you'd played it a couple times you could just about solve every puzzle without even spinning.

I had this and it was great. I used to play on the cork floor in the lounge. I also souped up the rubber bands on the catapult and crossbow to give it a bit more hitting power.

Nothing can go past Monopoly for me...... the amount of bust ups I had with my brother and sister over that game would out number the times we ended up with a winner.

That game would turn identical twins into enemies.

Any 90's kids remember Boltenstein?

Was both amazing, and terrible in terms of actual skill development.

Is that the game where you play a scientist and you play with edible chemicals??

Im thinking of a game, called Dr Frankestine?
and you say Frankestine, frankestine, frankestine is a friend of mine and then eat your potion or experiment which is some candy or fizzy drink made out as poison.

Whats the game with the cones called?? Remember that one

(Log in to remove this ad.)

The game with the cones is called' fang den hut' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coppit
Your aim is to get all your other players cones, which you get by throwing a dice and walk onto the same field as them. The person with the most 'hats' cones wins :)

I had this cricket game instead of Test Match, which just happens to be called Test Match

98730.jpg

Had this one, as well as the traditional version of test match. Can't for the life of me remember how it worked, though.

On the table top test match, I think I got pretty good at nicking the ball to the slips - never was much chop at it!

Not a board game per se, but I used to enjoy mucking around with kerplunk as a youngster.

Axis-Allies-2.jpg

This game was wicked.

Yup used to play that with my brothers. Took ages to set up, hours to play, and ages to pack up again. Always used to be Germany and Japan and blitzkrieg russia.

On the odd occasion I was USA my strategy was always the same, send all the planes to china and build an industrial complex there and hammer out the men. If you can hold china you can take over the japs main land.

There's a of version of this game floating around, it's a good version although you need dos box to run it on windows 7 from memory

Nah different game :(

axis and allies sounds similar to RISK.
