Chris Judd and Nathan Buckley: Who is better at their best?

Notice: West Coast, Carlton, and Collingwood supporters: Do not choose the player just because he currently plays for your club or used to play for your club. Select which one you think is a better player at their best, regardless of which player you like more/ hate more.

Bucks by a long way. He could go forward as well as in the midfield and you knew that every kick was worth two.

Translation: I hate Judd. I've seen it in multiple threads.. this is just the latest comical installment.

Bucks was a very gifted natural footballer, though I would rather Judd in my team due to his superior clearance/contested possesion ability. I would rather a fully fit and in form Judd than any midfielder of the last 20 years.

Judd was unbelievable at West Coast. I watched every single West Coast game while he was playing there just to see him work his magic. Judd at his best is the best midfielder I've ever seen. Been watching footy from about 1995 onwards.

Hoping he can recapture that sort of form at Carlton.

Buckley was also an outstanding player I loved the way he played. Such a beautiful kick. but Judd at his best was better.

and yes Hodgepodge really does hate Carlton and Judd. I just ignore his posts in regards to Carlton.

i hate Judd, but he still the best, when judd is at his best i havent seen anyone who is ablt to tame him, it takes 5 people to tkae him to the ground and thats if he gets tackled can also kick 1-2 goals a game. He is out and out a SUPERSTAR

Bucks lead a team that made a GF (twice) when some suggested they were lucky to make prelims.....inspirational...did stuff that was considered 'bullsh*t' at critical times....

Judd is good, but had Cousins (who I rate higher) and his band of merry men as support...I'd take Bucks...

There is no contest. Judd is vastly superior, much better at the contested ball and an ability to break tackles and simply burn off opponents that Buckley never possessed.
Buckley was a better kick but was much more a receiver.
Judd is currently below his best and may not recapture the peak but the current Judd is still preferable to Buckley. The recent Carlton game against St Kilda highlighted Judd's worth when he was responsible for reeling in a 5 goal lead almost single handedly but lack of support meant the effort could not be sustained.

People really have short memories don't they.

Bucks.

What has short memories got to do with it. Mine is long and Buckley is over rated by Collingwood. Yes he is the best player they have had in a generation but Judd is better.

My memory is long enough to recall Darrel Baldock and Ian Stewart and they were both better than Buckley as well.

judd.

bring back the old days, when judd would just put on a show at subiaco oval. no game was complete without some classic judd highlights.

when he was at west coast, you just knew we werent going to lose because he'd do something special when we needed it.

If a Chris Judd type or a Nathan Buckley type were available for drafting, you would go the Judd type of player every single time. Buckley was good, but Judd is awesome.

Also for the people saying Buckley, are you serious, this poll states who was better at their best.

5 goals in a half against Brisbane at the Gabba in 2003, Brisbane at the height of their domanance. Juddy turned it on against Brisbane like no other player at that time.

Buckley no match for Judd at his best.

Judd at his best for sure.

However since Judd has pulled on that Carltank jumper he has lost half his ability.

I am sure if Buckley made a comeback this week he too would be able to manage 2 kicks.

Judd at his best no contest. His blistering pace and ability to move through packs was amazing plus his ability to win the contested ball was something Buckley never did. Sure, Bucks was a beautiful kick but he was always too much of an outside receiver for my liking.

judd for his run, carry, and ability to hit a solid target running full pace.
bucks for his standing start 50m absolute ripper kicks, and a solid pair of dukes to boot.

All this comfortable margin talk is a load of crap. I have admitted that Judd is the better of the 2 but there isn't a lot in it

No not much in it. Certainly not by the length of the straight. Probably by a neck. Enough for it to be clear cut though and no need to call for the third umpire. That is what I meant by 'comfortable'. Apologies for any ambiguity, sometimes words lack the necessary precision.
