Never said he had a ripper game, he said that from a defensive standpoint he went alright. Restricting a forward to 1 goal is pretty good. Had some crucial touches in the last quarter as well.
Except that White never presented for the ball and his teammates never looked for him because he was playing a shutdown role. Still kicked a goal on Yarran. How embarrassing.

I love revisionist history.
If a tagger restricts his opponent, you generally award the contest to the tagger. Ratts has it backwards, and the Carlton fans seem to lap it up.

I thought you could get a late Rookie pick and turn them into an effective tagger after a year.
But if it takes a first round pick and several years development, who am I to argue with Ratten.
If they are tagging each other maybe it would be easier if they both just found a quiet spot on the ground somewhere sat down with a cup of tea.

Agreed. Both could have sat out the game and no one would have noticed.

Yarran in the Best players in round 2 and 3. Better get down to baker's delight for some humble pie..

Not even close HP

He shut down Monfries, and ran through the middle taking on the game time and time again.

Andrew McLeod anyone?

Andrew McLeod only played that role when his knees were shot.

And Monfries got as much of the ball as he normally gets. Has himself to blame for missing easy shots on goal.
