You can't have Chris. Thats All.

.. But furthermore I do worry that he wants to leave and look after his mother and if that were to for some reason happen you could always give kennedy back :)

You got Judd, cause he wanted to go home .. I'd call it even, if we got Yarran cause he wanted to go home

Gerard Healy basically said what I've been wanting all year today. McKinley at Full/Forward/Forward Pocket. Worsfold trying to turn him into a half-forward was a rubbish idea. He will play his best in the goalsquare.

I'm not convinced Yarran seemed happy from the start. Not that I actually know but after a while you tend to be able to read things between the lines. I actually wanted us to recruit a tall. Would've made much more sense to me. Fev won't be around forever. Given it takes 3 years to develop talls I'd like one hand for when Fev's time is up.

I wasn't going to buy into this one, but you're spot on jtg. He maintained, until mid last season, quite vocally, that he did not want to move east, in fact I think he said at one point "I will NOT move east". Now, I presume the AFL stepped in and refreshed his memory on the Clancy Rudeforth principle, because he changed his tune after mid season.

Why would we want him? He hasn't shown anything great so far in his AFL career and the fact he's mates with Nic Nat doesn't count for anything.

Yarran looks quite lazy and someone who wouldn't work the whole game.

Yeah, but they didn't get him for free. They gave us Masten, Kennedy and Notte. All we lost was Judd and a pick we were never going to use anyway.

I am glad he went to Carlton and I think WC is. They were always in the best position to compensate us. Richmond tried to convince us that 2, 18 and 19 was better than 3, 20 and Kennedy. Haha, or not.

Didnt think you could switch clubs until after the completion of the first two years from being drafted?

Dude, he's played 5 games. What do you expect??

I don't see why it isn't possible if all parties agree to it, that's really the only issue is it not? I'm not very familiar with the rules regarding it but I'd have thought it was identical to trading any other player under contract.

Yeah you are correct. I thought there was some rule but there is not.

Let's hope he doesn't follow the Clancy Rudeforth principle too closey then...that did not end too well for his AFL career!

Would hate to see Yazza leave, has amazing talent. However no point keeping him if his heart isn't at Carlton, also it would be a shame to see someone that talent go to waste, and possibly end up doing some stupid things with his life. So if he needs to come back to Perth to be with his Mum/Dad whatever I wouldn't hold it against him, Draft Picks are gambles

theres no way carlton will let yarran come home this year, they will want at least another year to make the melbourne environment work for him

plus he is just not the type to really force the issue by just going home and threatening to sit out the year or something like that.

it really seems like at this stage his heart is just not in it at carlton. he wouldnt be the first interstate draftee to struggle with homesickness in his first year though.

strangley, it may actually be in carltons best interest to trade him this year. he still has the currency of a first round draft pick at the moment, will he next year? if he has another poor year next year his value drops off considerably

they wont dislodge the eagles or dockers first rounder in this last year before the compromised drafts, but if they keep him they risk his value dropping each year he really struggles in melbourne until he is traded home.

but at this stage, there is no way they will admit defeat after just one year. yarran will stay in melbourne for now.

Lol. West Coast need Yarran like a gunshot to the head.

After the Ben Cousins controversy, horse chaff Kerr and other incidents, Yarran is the last thing you need.

I am sure there are several people in the know in WA including at the Eagles who will know the details. But take it as given - if Yarran is still playing next year he is best off staying in Melbourne.

Hope things work out for the young fella. Looks like he mixed with the wrong crowd in WA which got him in this position. AFL is his lifeline.

Yep, these are the reasons I don't want him. Nothing to do with football.

So, I take it that Walters and Naita are mixed in the wrong crowd as well? These three are unseparable, everywhere I see Naita, Walters is (that was until Freo made Headland his chaperone) and when Yarran's over they're usually together. I would worry more about Headland looking after Walters than I would slurring Yarran's name.

And what crowd was that? I havent heard anything about this, whats the go?

Good question, hopefully chinggis won't be gun shy and will elaborate!

...and we'll never win finals with him playing in the goal square...hence the need to see if he could have a few more strings to his bow.

He doesn't, he's a very limited player who will make a solid forward option for a club that settles for mediocrity.

On topic, I'd give Yarran a go but I doubt Carlton would give up on keeping him just yet.

Would a yarran for mkinley swap be equitable for everyone? Would be us holding off on trying to bend carlton over the barrel like they did to us.. but just throwing it out there.

If I stated the facts they this thread would be deleted straight away as were many other threads that started up around 2 months ago on the main board/Carlton board. Can't mess with court orders that suppress the details which they can do if something happens to a minor or when someone is a minor.

Yes I know he hung out with Naita and Walters and there's nothing wrong with those guys. He also hung out with some others, possibly they were relatives.

Given I can't comment further you can take this as speculation or whatever but there are others (eg. Shoe) who appear to know. I imagine there are several in the Eagles heirachy that also know.

Hope Yarran can sort things out. As mentioned, Football has become his lifeline now. Not sure whether coming back to WA is in his best interests.

Bookmark this thread if you want.
