Hopefully Thomas stays & with a fit Young & Toovey the list isn't too bad. Another key defender would be handy as I don't think Brown is good enough against the best forwards.

Finally, Buckley was out coached last night. To allow Port to have extra defenders back all night & have 2 & 3 defenders against 1 forward in one on ones was mind boggling.
Clarke will be delisted.
Maxwell should be delisted.
Goldsack to the trade category.
Agree with the rest. Good assessment from a non supporting fan.

It was Reid's worst game for the season last night. But what really threw the forward line out of whack was the presence of Keeffe. He was continually running into the holes that Reid and Cloke needed to be leading into. I think it was a big mistake of Buckley's to play Keeffe in this role. I don't blame Keeffe for this, it was his first game up forward all year. It reminded me of the Cloke to CHF move by MM in the 03' GF all those years ago. We also had Elliott and Maxwell through the forward line. Far too many tall and lead up types. The balance was completely off.
The coaching from Buckley was a disgrace.

Goldy is a interesting one I think he should stay I reckon he's out of position down back I really rated him playing up forward early in the year!

Buckley was betting that our tall forward line would trouble and stretch Port's defence and that our defenders could contain their small forward line. Reid, Cloke and Keeffe on paper seems like a pretty formidable marking forward line. Pies even won the contested footy and clearances but were so "deplorable" at kicking it was hardly even VFL level of skills out there such that it didn't really pay off.

He had a good idea, and it would've worked but the players both delivery, marking and conversion where garbage last night.

Fair point. Under Buckley, Shaw has lacked self-discipline, with tonight perhaps the best example of the cost to the team of his brain fades. If he is still contracted he is not a free agent and said he wants to finish his time at Collingwood. After this game, in which he also looked slow and provided no run or rebound, is it time to cut our losses with him? He helped to set the plot and tone of the loss with his gifting of 2 goals to PA.

Didak should be cut loose and the game of Thomas raised questions about his ability to play final's football. Dwyer looked a more limited player, but basically everyone delivering the ball into our forward line was at fault tonight.

Goldsack was one of our worst contributors again. I don't understand what anyone really sees in him, other than the possibilities offered by his versatility. When tested, he doesn't deliver enough defensively or offensively and his disposal is unreliable. Get rid of him though Maxwell should go first.

We will killed off halfback and wing. No run and carry with good kicking. We were put under pressure and could not get the ball out. It rebounded the whole night.

I've been saying it all year but now some of you have finally seen the light.

Heath Shaw and Harry O need to be moved on.

We are getting nothing out of them anymore. We are seeing their max potential at the moment. If this is as good as it gets with them, then we must move them on.

If he was prepared to trade Dawes, then Shaw and Harry must go this summer. Enough is enough. They are not what they used to be.

I saw Harry O wandering aimlessly as a loose man at half back. Total waste of space.

lol @ people itt wanting like 15 players delisted/retired/traded. As long as we don't panic we will make the 8 next season and will likely be a better side than this season, if not then in 2015. This list is going up, not down imo, which to some extent makes this season a success.

Personally i would like to see Ramsay being built for that role, i think Fasolo is naturally a forward and is our 2nd best forward when on song, should keep him there.
I can see this is going to be my offseason gripe Fasolo is so overrated - there were some calling for him to be dropped before his injury because he's a selfish hog who doesn't do any defensive things - port showed how easy it is to walk out of backline today - Fasolo compounds that

The proof will be in the pudding as to what changes he makes.

I tell you now, if we lose Daisy Thomas when in all seriousness I can't see happening and we retain Shaw and Harry, Bucks should walk out himself.

They are mostly all worthy delists/retires though so I don't get you?

Hudson

Which one of those 10 deserves to be retained and is a realistic chance to make us better in 2014?

Maxwell and Lynch who offer nothing but an experienced mind, tied up another year and should be vfl listed.

Then you have some players in the current 22 who just aren't up to it or maybe used to expediate our rise in refreshing the list through trades.

Shaw and O'Brien have been solid contributors for the last two seasons (O'Brien would have been leading our b&f 1/2 way through this season). They also have very little trade value compared to what they produce for us.

Thomas has hardly played for two seasons and it's not unlikely that he'll never get back to his form of 2010-11. If we trade/he leaves on FA we get something like pick 10 or 11.

If we trade O'Brien or Shaw I'll be pissed. Pragmatically speaking, I don't really care what we do with Thomas. That is, if he leaves we don't stand to lose that much, certainly nowhere near as much as we'd lose if Shaw or O'Brien left.

What concerns me is the affect that Shaw's petulant behaviour is having on his team mates. I am sure that they like us are sick of it. I don't understand why it has continued all year.

So, we clearly need a cleanout of the list. Too many players are living on past reputation.

Maxwell should give up the captaincy. He's getting past it now and has been for a while.

Lynch, Jolly and Hudson need to go as well. Questions should be asked of Nathan Brown and Steele Sidebottom. Can they perform under pressure in finals any more? Didak will probably leave as well.

Players like Seedsman, Elliott, Sinclair, Williams, Fasolo, Grundy, Thomas, Broomhead are all part of the future. There's no point in having them play second fiddle to players who are now past it.

We should seriously consider trading Heath Shaw. He's lost the plot. I'd be all for getting rid of him if we could somehow entice a young key back or forward to the club.

Positives for the season are Marley Williams and Jamie Elliott. They've both proven that they have what it takes to be a part of the club's next tilt at a flag. Especially Williams, who I've never been more pleased to be completely wrong about as a player.

You are joking about Steel right?

They need to give him a sedative before he plays imo :D. It has always been pretty bad but has been worse this year.

Jmac you laughed at me when I said O'Brien would be traded in May/June in fact you went further. Our supporters are now seeing the light.

That's a good refreshing turnover. Only would keep Jolly or Hudson IF we cannot get another ruckman through trade or free agency. Just having Witts and Grundy will leave us short. Good clean out thou!!!

This is what worries me. I know that he has always been hyper but surely he could have improved this aspect of his game. Opposition players must love getting into him because they know he will eventually do something stupid.

I still don't agree that Harry will be traded. If it happens I will be disappointed.

I'll be more disappointed if he stays. You can not undermine the head coach under any circumstances. Buckley will need to make that statement to the group getting rid of both Shaw and Harry. I called it 5 months a go. We will see now.

Didak is the only player in the side who kicks it to our players.

He should be in the best 22.

Get rid of Shaw and Harry, we will not have a defense that can win a flag. You might be able to get rid of one, but both of them will do too much damage.

It will be an interesting trade period. I suspect though that both players will be retained. Whatever happens I just hope it strengthens the side because right now I think we could easily slip out of the 8 next year. I don't have a problem with this providing the team is moving towards being a realistic premiership chance.
