Play Casboult as a stay at home FF with 2 quicks Menzel and Jeffy? right at his feet. Play Waite and Everitt as high half forwards leading up either wing for quick bombs from defence. Jamison,Henderson,Watson as 3 key defenders. Get Yarran and buckley on the wings for leg speed. Walker and Simmo and Scotland as rebounding defenders and some leadership down back. Bring back sheperding, attacking the ball carrier, blocking for team mates and playing for eachother and FFS when a team mate is being scragged, pushed and shoved around fly the ****ing flag and punish the opposition player with a well timed shirt front or get over and help out your mate!

It's frightening that people still think beating Melbourne is a foregone conclusion.
Nothing in footy is a forgone conclusion but this is pretty close to it. The only way that Melbourne wins is if Essendon's starting 18 swap strips and Bomber straps on an 80s inspired mullet.

Teehee. I am now picturing Gina Reinhart laying a shepherd...
laying a shepherd in the forward pocket... while standing in the midfield... point hip towards pocket... and swing it... too bad she took out the rest of the team as well... but thats ok... she'll get in a bunch of guys from southeast Asia to finish the job off...

Simple.. Hypnotise the players to show some care.. Apply heart, effort and pressure. Stick a f'n tackle ffs!!!! Oh and hit a target from 20m at least by foot.. And 1m by hand..

The players have now had their little meeting where they told each other some home truths. Hopefully it was more about football and not about who likes Gibbs hair or the colour of jeffy's boots.

One of the oldest sayings in football is one week at a time. Well forget that and lets look at the next 3 weeks of games.

We play Melbourne, WB and then West Coast.

Melbourne is the week we get back on track with our first win of the season. It may not be pretty and it may be a tight contest for a half but we have to stick to our structures and win this by 40-50 points.

WB are no easy beats but this is the game we where we start to win back some respect.

Then the Eagles game is the one where it really is time to stand up and prove that we are still a capable side and can beat good sides.

Yarran into the midfield. Showed he can find the ball as an outside mid after he set up Ellard's goal from a clearance. Time to give our most dangerous player more time up the ground. Class player as a forward and back, but he's not going to go to the next level playing the same position. A player with his talent, class and build should be in there like Zaharakis and Shuey. Has the talent to do more than Thomas who was moved into the midfield by Malthouse.

Settle Watson at CHB with Jamison and others there to allow him develop without being exposed closer to goal. Put him in Cale Hooker's role and watch him do more than just kick sideways like Thornton. Hooker can back himself to attack the ball because Hurley, Fletcher and their midfield push back to cover him. Henderson had to take on Hooker and a third man on Sunday.

Everitt isn't a defender. Play him on the likes of Deledio or Watts who lack ticker.

Temay, Graham, Cripps, Holman all in, play a couple of the back flank. Play Simpson on ball, drop Gibbs and Walker getting them ready for the fact we will be trading them. The result this week will very misleading. We will most probably beat up on Melb but we will only be painting over cracks. I'd rather get over the line by three goals and start blooding our future.

I'd focus on tackling and pressure at training this week. Interesting what Mick said when he first arrived at the club, 'we aren't practising tackling as all the players should know how'. I think he may have underestimated 2011 semi-finalists, Carlton.

In: Wood, Armfield, Docherty, Bell, Watson, Waite
Out: Warnock, Jamison (inj.), Scotland, Carrazzo, Lucas, Rowe

B: Dylan Buckley, Matthew Watson, Bryce Gibbs
HB: Kade Simpson, Lachie Henderson, Dale Thomas
C: Chris Yarran, Ed Curnow, Zach Tuohy
HF: Tom Bell, Levi Casboult, Andrew Walker
F: Dennis Armfield, Jarrad Waite, David Ellard
Foll: Cameron Wood, Troy Menzel, Marc Murphy
I/C: Pat Cripps, Nick Graham, Andrejs Everitt, Sam Docherty (sub)

Get physical!

Sorry, still drunk...

Bcak Malthouse

Our club could toss a coin on any decision and it would be more creative, discerning and appropriate than what's currently on offer....
Sad and pathetic.
I'm punch drunk...

How is it that you coach a group of players who can't play/aren't fit/are past it? Magic isn't real. Play the young ones and put up with some losses.

Team for me the team is:

B: Buckley Jamison Docherty
HB: Simpson Watson Thomas
C: Everitt Carrazzo Yarran
HF: Menzel Henderson Lucas
F: Walker Casboult Murphy
OB: Warnock Gibbs Cripps
IC: Graham Curnow Tuohy
SUB: Ellard
EM: Holman Giles Scotland

Tuohy - Play him middle/forward, is either struggling to run/move or is just out of form.
Keen to see Giles and Holman get games at some stage this season.
Graham - looks lost at AFL level, give him a job and put him in the middle.

If we start looking better and a few of the older players like Judd, Waite, Mclean etc start playing well later in the season them maybe we can finish off with an older team but at this stage I think a young burst of players would be a good thing because we will have to do it next year, they may as well have a few games under their belts. Running needs to improve.

Id lock them all out of Visy park and tell them to **** off and do what ever they want, they can turn up to training on Tuesday and Thursday night and the team will go up on the board after training. If you are going to play like a amature league team, were going to treat you like one.

My team would be as follows when fit. I have tried to get a good mix of both youth and experience. Get some games into the kids who are the future. On the shopping list for 2015 someone to replace Waite who would also be gone by the end of this season. harsh but true reality of the current situation. Currently Wood would replace Warnock while Kruezer is injured, who should be the number one ruck.

FB: Waite Jamison Watson
HB: Simpson Docherty Buckley
CE: Gibbs Murphy Curnow
RO: Kruezer Judd Cripps
HF: Menzel Walker Thomas
FF: Casbolt Henderson Everitt
In: Yarran Graham McLean
SUB: Temay
EM: Holman Giles Carrazzo

What I'd do is put on singlet,
And still pull something out of my sleeve.
A bit like Mick:thumbsu:.
