Unfortunately we are going through some rather stressful time. But I ask each and everyone of the Board members rather than start a new thread post under one of these general headings.

You can change the heading of your own post to highlight what you are trying to say.

Please can you not drudge up old thread just to prove that what you prophesied 12-18 months has come true. All the tigers fans are hurting, no one needs their noses rubbed in it.

New posting need to refere to new articles etc not just another opinion on the same topic

I really want and think we need a developing young coach.. One who will come in and make the hard calls.. I loved Hardwick as a player, tough, came across as a guy who takes no crap.. This is the guy i would love to see coach the tigers next yr.. Damien Hardwick for me :thumbsu:

Re: Paul Roos

I'm not a fan of his coaching. Not the type of style i want Richmond to play.

Not interested in the Tiges winning? Hmmm interesting!

Paul Roos is a gun coach and living in Sydney, I get to watch a lot of the Swans and bottom line is that I love their competitive nature and the way they play.

I would love for Roos to coach the Tiges but I have read that once he finishes at the Swans, he is looking at moving to the US with his American wife.

kendo - I'm with you on Hardwick. Malthouse also works for me.

Re: Paul Roos

Just been on the blog with Robbo from the HUN and he had the following comments regarding us:

He predicts we'll end up with Malthouse, but wants us to get Buckley.

Loved your dummy spit because your questions weren't getting posted, RT. :D

Re: Paul Roos

doesnt matter. whoever it is will fail. pick some random bloke off the street to do it.

actually there is a great idea. next years big reality tv show. afl coach. from a field of 100 candidates it gets narrowed down to 1 by the end of next year and he gets the job for the next 2 years. what have we got to lose? yeah a heck of a lot of games but think of the money and exposure :D

Yeah was posing some beauties but they weren't getting replied to or even posted on the blog. Then he puts the dummy spit up. At least he then answered a couple of the questions I posed. The best one was if Robbo knew he was getting the sack from the paper would he hang around or would he walk and let them get on with finding a replacement. He said he would walk. If only TW would do the same.

One of my favourite coaches is Paul Roos. One of his previous assistants was Ross Lyon and look at what he has managed to do to the current St Kilda group.

With this is mind, maybe John Longmire could be the perfect replacement.

With your young defensive unit in place, he could be the perfect coach to mould a strong team built around defence.

Roos

Roos has done a good job but he took on a list with great leadership already at the club and allowed them to be involved in almost everything. Could he develop that same leadership at Richmond when we clearly dont have the same personalities on the list?

I like Mathews or a hard liner like him. Roos is a bit more of a "one of the boys" type of coach and I dont think thats what this club needs.

I dont subscribe to the theory that the game has moved past the older coaching group like Mathews and co.
Each should be judged on their merit and Mathews record is second to none.

I like Harwick he's did his term as a assistant now and he and Clarko built that list from scratch at the hawks and he had succes as a player. One other interesting one would be Sumich from the eagles another who is highly regarded and has be through alot of success as a player and as assistant and also in a top job in the wafl were he won a couple of preimerships.

Thats out of left field but considering the skills that the players have learnt, hmmmmm
Everything he touches turns to Gold. And like you said we already have a basketball game plan mind set.
And we know Brian is a better Basketball coach than Terry.:D

Why the assistants can't get the job

They are part of the problem!!

The caretaker role will be given to Sheedy, as the board see this as a way to appease supporters, who will be baying for blood. It will at least generate some excitement and give some hope.

He hasn't been part of our problem and surely could do as good a job a David "braindead" King,

Brian "Always the bridesmaid never the bride"Royal and

Jade "haven't I done a great job developing players" Rawlings.

Wayne "look at me" Campbell

Those spuds don't deserve the chance to coach

I know I will be ridiculed, but it is mail.

I reckon it makes perfect sense to ask sheedy to mind the fort temporarily, as at least he has coached nad as I said, hasn't been part of our problems!

The Snag speaks the truth!

Sitting here wondering what about that statement I can disagree with? Would certainly buy time to make a calculated choice and as the Snag man says, generate some excitement as distinct from the collective exhale at a Campbell appointment. It risks having the media expode with the "Sheedy knifed Wallace" myth but he is good enough to deal with that. I dont want him long term but here's a chance for Sheeds to actually stand up when we need him and be counted. Could heal some old wounds as well maybe. Better shuddup Im rambling into positives...lol
