Richmond were a lot more disgusting during their post flag year. So many chodes wearing the hats/polos that had never worn them before in their life, such an ugly supporter base in appearance as well ive noticed. For me to say that when head to head with Collingwood supporters is saying something

I went to most home and away games in the 80's I can assure you we were not relying on Carlton or Collingwood for the crowds we were easily as big as either of your clubs, this comment by the then VFL in 1980's pretty much says it all.

"A public lottery to support the VFL was also considered and there was even a view if the VFL could just get Richmond to win more games the crowds would come back."

Where does Liddle get this proof that your club is 25% bigger than Richmond? We are the measuring stick these days and everyone likes to think they can be bigger than us, yet to see any proof, your largest membership ever is half of ours, seems to be mistaking ill gotten wealth with support base, Carlton were never really big enough to need to move to the G'.

Now obviously that is related to your shitbox ground, away crowds is Carltons forte where you are involved in 10 of the biggest, 8 of which are versus Richmond or Collingwood it seems that you rely on the two big opposition teams for your big crowds, not the other way around.

Your top home crowds were against Collingwood, Carlton and Essendon 3 teams who have bigger support bases than yours and they were on public holidays.

Collingwood have more supporters then Richmond in every state or territory. That is fact!

This year we already have more then hawthorn, west Coast and Essendon in terms of members.

Again we are the biggest afl club on social media. All clubs go and use these stats to get sponsorships. West Coast before they ran out on the mcg has an advertisement on the big screen stating that they have over 500,000 social media supporters.

All clubs including Richmond would use social media statistics in relation to sell to organisations how big their brand is. This is the reason why Eddie and majority of afl fans except for Richmond fans all know that Collingwood have the most supporters out the the Victorian clubs. All Collingwood need to work on is to get their huge casual fan base and turn them into members. If Collingwood can achieve this we will smash Richmond’s record!!

On another note, membership should be disregarded in this conversation, Hawks at one point broke the record, and, as you see in the chart we’re in the upper middle level.

Our supporters are just the most committed to financially supporting the club. Putting money where our mouth is.

Yeah maybe second, Richmond supporters saved the club with SOS instead of going begging to the AFL, like Collingwood and Geelong, or voting to merge like Hawthorn and Melbourne, we then raised 6 million for the fighting Tiger fund which put us on the path to a flag and financial success, followed by 100000 paid up members, turning us back into the powerhouse we all knew we would become again.

You do get a lot of contributions through the coin slot of the pokies though.

But when I use social media Richmond are the 4th biggest club (Collingwood no.1) You Richmond fans argue saying that it’s crap or Roy Morgan poll which has Collingwood has the most popular Victorian club and the mighty Richmond fc as the 8th most popular club overall.

Collingwood is bigger and greater in every way 15 premierships to 11 and at the end of the day that’s all that matters.
