SSSSSS is a hawks supporter, they hold their packs back until their useby date.

Said posters other team is Six decades of domination, which I presume is another way to spell the pies. Can't think of another team that fits that claim. So, possibly they will get the merchandise sometime this year?
The merchandise was sent to Carlton FC by mistake - it's been stolen

Coming in peace here.

Not entirely sure if this is the thread for it either so please feel free to move it mods.

I bought a membership package for a niece of mine for 2024 in December. What's the usual timeframe for when the membership packs get distributed by the club?

She's received the card but none of the merch yet.
I renewed my 2 boys and mine in late November and had it before Xmas. As you can imagine with over 100,000 of them it might take some time..

Postage is quicker if you buy a membership & pledge allegiance to the Black & White.

Surely Tom Mitchell is enough goodwill to get me express postage? ;)

I know this is wildly off-topic but would I be correct in assuming that an illegal tobacco trade has germinated due to the high excise that tobacco now attracts in Australia?
Well yes you could say that. The illegal smokes are less than half the price, hence quite the market for them.

Yes. However there's also some relating to products you can't get in Australia - not sure if you've seen those really skinny cigarettes - I know a couple of women who buy illegal not for price but they like those cigarettes.

I figured, but it's probably only in the last 12 months that I've become aware there is an actual illegal tobacco trade in Australia that appears to be thriving. Either I have been blissfully unaware or it's really skyrocketed.

Nope, various ethnic groups (not limited to any one geographical area / continent) have pretty much always sourced their tobacco from the black market, you generally won't see them wandering out of the local milk bar with a carton of Winnie blues that's for sure.

Tobacco makes it into the news more now that the profit margins have gone way up due to taxes and police / customs being harder on it, as well as the whole gang war arson thing, but the black market and illicit trade has always been there and in considerable bulk.

But it has always been and is still there because of the high taxes in Australia, making ciggies really expensive here compared to a heap of other countries - 40 times the price of some places - it makes the trade in illegal ciggies profitable.

We don’t tend to tax milk and bread.

If you can afford to drink, smoke, gamble and speed you aren’t too badly off. However some people will always think they are special - ‘star boarders’.

I'm not sure what you're point is - I'm not passing judgement on anything. I really don't care.

If I was to make a stand, it'd be buy chop chop to help out some Qld growers.

You are absolutely right. This is wildly off-topic. Kind of thought that you'd ease up a bit and get back to trade talk after the other off-topic shitstorm earlier in the thread.

That’s right. Take that kind of garbage somewhere else. This is trade talk…..some just love to bring politics to sport! The one thing that unites us, people love to try to create a division in.

strap yourself in, the Governments new way of dealing with the tobbacco wars is to only sell packets of 20 after 1st november. They don't GAF about smokers or who's going to get hurt, they are just going to take it out on smokers. I've never been a smoker but my local tobbaconist sells packets of 20 for $15, I know where I'd go and they've been fire bombed
