You're missing the point guys. You can't concentrate on trying to tag Yarran (or players like him)...he is quicker than 99% of the competition.

What you have to do is kick a few goals or set up a few early and make him come to you.

I agree and agree with those match ups. I don't think offensively Sinclair worries anyone though. Thomas and Krakouer I think have the tricks to hurt him but they are also good defensively. Yarran will get away a bit but he will be accountable defensively and in close accountable offensively too.

You guys have signed Chris Waller from Zebs for 2013. Great young kid, its very good get for you guys.

any details about him?

I'm stuck on my iPhone at work so can post something when get home tonight if you want. Pretty sure I have bio on him somewhere!

From what i can uncover he is a midfielder, 24 years old, broke into the team this year. Kicks goals and won the most courageous award in 2011 (for his club i'd presume). Can't really find anything more. His breakout year was 2012 after playing half of 2011 in the VFL reserves. Seems like midfield depth but i could be wrong as info is a bit limited

This off-season report on the VFL team was in the issue of Inside Football that came out a couple of days ago:-

The Magpies will retain the bulk of their squad, led by Kris Pendlebury, Cathal Corr, Jack Hellier, Tom Sundberg, Nick Riddle and Brett Eddy. Lachlan Ferguson, the VAFA's 2012 Rising Star after a sparkling season with Collegians, was an early signing and Sandringham Dragons' 2012 captain and courageous defender Chris Mangoni, his teammate Tom Tyquin, Mansfield's Nick Gray, Oakleigh Chargers 2012 premiership player Jordan Collopy, Sandringham midfielder Chris Waller and Western Jets graduate Sam Critchley are training under new coach Dale Tapping.

Mansfield's Nick Gray

Craig Kelly coached Mansfield until 2011. Shane Wakelin plays there, Paul Licuria played as a guest-player last year and Josh Fraser has signed-up for next season. The Melbourne-based Mansfield players even have a deal to use Gosch's paddock. So lots of good Collingwood inside-oil there.

Does anyone else have the concern that we will be too top heavy again next year? I know we cleaned out some talls, but with Witts, Grundy, Hudson in the ruck, Paine, Eddy, Richmond and Gault as forwards, the latter two might not even be considered as top heavy because they seem to be quite athletic like a smaller player, Gault in particular. Then Frost, Keeffe and Riddle in the back.

I think the VFL team should really contend next year. At least win about 10-12 games, which should get us to finals or thereabouts. I think that should be their goal considering we only won 3/4 this year.

The loss of K.Pendles will be massive, although I feel we have been compensated well with the inclusion of Frost and Keeffe who will likely play with the VFL for a fair amount of the season while he recovers.

Not Really as we won't be playing 3-4 Guys over the 200cm mark like last season. We only would have 2 as I don't think they play Hudson in VFL, if both Witts and Grundy are in the VFL Side.

We will have more true KPP Players in the VFL as you have Mentioned in your Post.
