Collingwood will never have to travel more than 4 times a year

Well Hen your the biggest Victorian Club what would you expect? Every Victorian Club request's to play against us to maximise crowds. Brisbane and Sydney each year request to play a home game against the pies due to collingwoods huge supporter base in those states.

are you a member of the club you support?
if so, ask the board that next year you don't want them to ask for a Collingwood home game, then get the other 7 melbourne clubs to do the same.
Collingwood then when play all 6 interstate teams on the road.

Its your club along with the other Victorian clubs that are to blame, everyone wants a collingwood home game, there are only 11 out there and 11 doesn't go into 16 very well.
If you support the doggies, North, Melbourne or Hawthorn then stop selling home games to interstate and you'll end up playing 11 home games in Melbourne, 5 or 6 away games in melbourne and teh rest interstate.

Well if every victorian team is requesting to play collingwood at the mcg to maximise profits because of their large crowds then it is hard for the AFL to send them interstate more than 4 times a year

The other point is that Collingwood, over the journey, gets a disproportionately high number of home games against the non-Vic sides, because they are strong enough to sustain a larger number of one-team crowds, and not have it impact them financially.
Only Geelong gets nearly as many, which they jam into Skilled Stadium.
Every other Vic club, with the exception of Essendon, plays many more other Vic clubs over a sustained period, so they are a drawing on two blocks of supporters for the gate.

Ive got the perfect solution to this me thinks. MAKE them travel for four weeks in a row every wizard/NAB cup. ;)

Clearly the way the system is at the moment, Collingwood can always expect to get just the 4 interstate trips a year.

NOt saying the reasons for this are right or wrong - other victorian clubs requests pretty much ensure this outcome - but it still is a telling statistic.

Geelong play Collingwood at the MCG, I bet that was due to a request by your club. So if it is OK for your club to do it, why can't other clubs make the same request?

Surely the Perth clubs would be requesting to play Collingwood at home rather than the likes of the Kangaroos and Bulldogs?

If it's all about crowds, why is Richmond v Collingwood only fixtured once for the 3rd time in 4 years, despite averaging 60K since 2005?

They wouldn't give a toss. WCE sell out and freo go pretty close...

Collingwood can't play everyone twice, I guess its just the luck of the draw.

wouldnt make any difference for us, its a sellout most games whoever we play.

Aint no 'luck', and there ain't no 'draw' as in 'something chosen or drawn at random'. More a 'fixed-ture'.

Pretty certain its your home game so we get nothing out of it if thats the case.

It was a Geelong home game, the AFL change it? I remember in about 1999 Geelong requested the game be moved to the MCG and there it has stayed.

Doesn't get much more important than this. About the only topic that is discussed from now until Sept next year. About he only topic that should be locked as irrelavant by mods too.

Whats the problem?? Collingwood travel 4 times, as do Essendon, Carlton and Geelong. Richmond and the saints only travel 5 times as for the other melbourne clubs i couldnt be bothered looking but im sure it will be 5 or 6 at most. The only club that plays 7 interstate games is the Hawks, 4 of which are in Tassie. So they really only play 3 away games.
But who cares about the facts im sure everyone will still whinge over the off season about how Collingwood always get it easier than everyone else.

I dont think it is Irrelavant, Collingwood sure do get alot of Games at the G too but i dont blame them, Its the AFL cashing in on them, If the AFL realy cared about teams they would make some of the poorer teams play the pies twice, to help them with the gate money. How much of a stiffy do you think the AFL got when Geelong Vs Collingwood in the finals Would have benn big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. AFL=$$$

Geelong travel 5.:thumbsu:

Also, Im yet to see these draws favour the pies in anyway, evan tho they are around the mix all the time, The AFL can make them play werever they want but at the end of the day the club has to win, Somthing the club has not been able to do for awhile, So when the pies are staring down a 3rd grand final in a row then i'll be pissed about there draw.

But you're right, there's no problem. No problem at all. It doesn't matter that Collingwood is the only club not to play more than 4 i/s matches in a season in the last two years, let alone the last 12.

In addition:
nobody has any reason to be concerned about the way the game is being run
we're not facing a water crisis
Ian Thorpe is not...

WOWWW what an amazing table. For example your team, the Tiggies, have played 7 more interstate games over 12 years than Collingwood.
Thats an average of 0.58% more interstate games a year. What a CRISIS. Lets march on AFL headquarters. Thats the difference between the Tiggies finishing 14th and........ 13th.

WTF are the Tiggies? And I hope your paid employment doesn't involve maths and public safety.
