I thought l would create a thread to place all our criticisms and positive aspects of commentators and the media in one thread.

I'll start, brad cunnington, zach Ziebell, Lachie Henderson.

Also a bit of a roast for the cheer leaders against the hawks.

The standard of AFL journalism and media is very poor in general. They're very unprofessional and by and large rely on their playing days to get them by.

What's most disappointing is that there's an AFL media association yet they don't do anything about it. Just there to give out awards.

I think our coach Chris Scott gets our players names right 100% of the time...

Is it just me ? Or are some of the Hawks players getting a bit too cocky ?
I know they've won the last two premierships and I have never had a problem with Hawthorne, but some of there older guys, in my mind were carrying on like dicks.
Special mention to B.Lake. What a tosser

They can get away with it. Success gives them an out without much complaint from me.

Dwayne Russell and Gerard Healy as commentators is basically scrubbing the bottom of the barrel. Russell is at his absolute worst when he is commentating Port Power games. He'll let you know what primary school the players attended and the name of their first pet. Commentators that show respect by calling us "North Melbourne" go up a peg or two in my estimation. I just prefer balanced commentating using the correct names of players and no personal bias getting in the way.

I don't overly enjoy being called Kangaroos every single damn time, North or North Melbourne, hell even the Shinboners would be nice now and again.

Carey has to be up there with the best with his special comments. Knows his footy inside and out - unbelievably talented on the field and built like a brick shithouse, but I've no doubt his footy smarts played a part in the player he was, and the same footy smarts show in his commentary.

Best special commentator by a margin. Doesn't feel a need to sound smsrter than he is.

Dwayne Russell's voice has always given me the shits...even if he had great things to say I'd probably still refuse to listen based on the grating voice of his. Brian Taylor is downright crap, Bruce was once great but now is past his use-by date, likewise with Cometti. Luke Darcy is garbage.

Anthony Hudson I don't mind, Drew Morphett was fantastic and I think now finds himself without a gig.....yet Brian Taylor still does. Go figure. Clinton Grybas was brilliant, and Sandy Roberts is great too.

The sad thing is that the shit commentators outweigh the great ones by a country mile.
