These people really have nothing to talk about
Nail on the head mate.

The ‘media’ is so enormous now over so many platforms, it needs clicks and to get some they create it.

We’ve just had a solid couple days of booing talk and it was kicked off by Black Caviar’s Boyfriend on Monday night, then gained some steam yesterday with Corn-Francis and Bucks and then run away with USC and Lloyd last night.

Don’t need to be a rocket surgeon to work out every one of those click-baiters are from Jabba the Hutch’s stable..

All AFL club members should have access to all CD stats and different camera angles (eg: behind the goal footage). If you aren't live at a game it's very difficult with the coverage to understand why a defensive zone is breaking down like our's has the last 2 weeks. The special comments guys either don't want to inform us or don't understand themselves.

Agreed.

They should actually start broadcasting the game with behind the goals vision, enhanced with overlay of the players names/number so you know who's who.

The tv coverage has basically had the same three angles since it was first broadcast. The game has moved on from contest to contest, man on man stuff and the coverage needs to evolve to give the viewers a better understanding of what's unfolding.

This would put 90% of current TV commentators out of a job.

Bring it on!

I still miss the Foxtel option (~2005) that turned off commentary and took the stadium sound.

Loved using that plus selecting the wide shot. Made home viewing like a virtual stadium seat and you could make your own assessment of a game but with the crowd audio for atmosphere.

Not sure why we've now got less options almost 20 years later despite so many technological advancements.

But don't most people prefer to see extreme closeups of player faces as they celebrate and multiple replays of fluke genius goals.

I understand that you have to dumb it down because for some people it's just theatre. But there is nothing for the football public who understand the game and want to be educated further on what's happening with set ups, zones, stoppage structures etc.

Somehow, corporates must make less money out of that option.
It’s not about viewer experience, but rights for the content owners to make money.

As unclean as it makes me feel, I really like Lordo
He's arguably the best out there in the footy media; knows his stuff, calls it as he sees it, doesn't make sensationalist statements for attention. Just struggles a bit in front of the camera at times with trying to get words out.

I actually don't mind Champion Data as I think it adds something to the overall package of the AFL, but i don't get how you can be the third highest rated player on the ground when your direct opponent was rated the best.

Todd Goldstein (North Melbourne)

“The only real part of this game (between St Kilda and North Melbourne) that really interested me was the battle between Goldstein and (Rowan) Marshall.

“I thought it was a fantastic battle.

“We had Goldstein as the highest rated player on the ground, but he didn't he didn't get a vote.

“That was his best performance of the year.

“We also had Marshall as the third highest rated player on the ground and he also didn't get a vote as well.”

F ing gold! 🤣

“You should remove any use of Jason’s image immediately and any reference to him. And no, we are not interested in your offer in any way. Please remove this product ASAP. Legal action is pending.”

Oh, FFS, you thin-skinned Port Power (est. 1997) bastards! I'm no King's Counsel, but isn't that a caricature of #1 Squib, rather than his image?

EDIT: Shit, didn't realise there was a pile on on the other thread......

Carey spoke about Hardwick saying that “Come and say it to my face” about Corns comments.

Said he played against dimma and he isn’t tough at all, so he shouldn’t be acting like he is. Said he wouldn’t bruise a grapefruit with a shovel 😂😂

Hardwick is in this famous photo. Carey had them all under control.
