Yep, its excellent.

Apart from the fact that he says he loves working with kane. But in some way it gels with how he also supported duck initially - his moral compass can be used against him with mates.

The AFL has locked in dates for the 2024 edition of Gather Round as it looks to build on the success of the inaugural event this year.

The Herald Sun can confirm that next year’s Gather Round will be held in South Australia during round 4 of the home-and-away season, which will be the week after Easter and the middle weekend of school holidays for Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia.

The round will run from Thursday April 4 to Sunday April 7.

Western Bulldogs d North Melbourne

The Bulldogs remain the AFL’s great enigmas. The 2016 premiers and 2021 runners-up have as much top-end quality as just about anyone, but are still hard to predict from week-to-week. They made difficult work of beating North Melbourne, and must return from the mid-season break with a renewed appetite to reduce the “margin” to the league’s best, as coach Luke Beveridge put it. At the same time, Cody Weightman’s hot form would have buoyed the coaching staff. Over at the Kangaroos, they again proved competitive for much of the game without looking like they were going to win. Interim coach Brett Ratten said afterwards North Melbourne could not claim the season to be a success when they had only two wins to their name. There are positives in the way the kids are playing and progressing, but this rebuild needs to start banking some victories to prove they are on the right track. - Marc McGowan
