Round 2 - Coney Island Warriors v Las Vegas Bears @ Van Cortlandt Park

This week saw us play the Bears at Van Cortlandt, but unfortunately they climbed on top of us right from the start and pumped away for the win. The Wazzas were sluggish and no one reached the 100 DT points, Reggie coming close with 96. There were no bags kicked, with Morgs, Wooshette, Falc, toxic and Packedlunch kicking 2 each, and a scattering of 1’s and behinds just not enough to get a win.

Round 3 - Gold City Royals vs Coney Island Warriors at The Golden Throne

This week and we came up against the Royals, it was a tight game with both teams playing for bragging and ragging rights. Half time saw the score tied t 60 – 60 then in the third quarter the Warriors put the foot down and flew ahead. Morgs racked up a 5 and 4, Dapper toxic and David Schwarz all contributed 3 each. A much needed win.

Round 4 - Coney Island Warriors v Sin City Swamprats @ Van Cortlandt Park

It was time to play everyone’s favorite team the Swampbrats and we hosted them at Van Cortlandt with our usual open arms. Unfortunately it wasn’t our arms they wanted open and they bent us over quite comprehensively. Jazny had a massive game and tried single handedly to drag us out of the gutter but to no avail.

Round 5 - Coney Island Warriors vs Dragons FFC at Van Cortlandt Park

Round 5 saw us come up against our old mates the Dragons and what a match it was. Packedlunch was back in form and kicked 5, Kabanna played a huge game kicking 4 and there were lots of other contributors to our big and much needed win.

Round 6 - Roys FFC vs Coney Island Warriors @ Brunswick Junction Oval

Round 6 saw us take on the Roys at Brunswick Oval and with Packedlunch back in form kicking 6 from 6 and Morgs contributing 3 goals from 3 kicks we were flying. It was a very even week and a true team effort, which saw our season get back on track.

I’d like to give this award to someone who doesn’t get enough credit, always loyal, always helpful an also very very funny in match threads is our zackah He never complains, is easy to work with and will do anything to help out if he can..he tallied up all the votes for me and I’d like to thank him, it was a great help and saved me a lot of time which I’ve been very short of. So thanks mate, very much appreciate it.

He’s been part of the Leadership Group and a Vice Captain for several seasons, and also he’s been doing our posting stats, and imo is a leading candidate to take over the captaincy when I hand it over. When you go back and read the match threads you realize how funny and clever zac is, under rated.
I love him and I know everyone else does too.

Round 8 - Coney Island Warriors vs Baghdad Bombers @ Van Cortlandt Park

What can I say, the Baghdad Bombers beat us and Citroin kicked the winning goal Our season was starting to look shaky and this was a real wake up call. Jaz once again worked her butt off and Packedlunch booted another 6 but it wasn’t our week.

Round 9 - East Side Hawks v Coney Island Warriors @ Waverley Park

This was the turning point in our season; we absolutely demolished the East Side Hawks and went on to win the rest of our games in the home and away bar one. Morgs kicked 6 and we had 6 players scoring over 100 DT points. It was our best win of the season and we celebrated hard afterwards with bottles of goo flowing freely.
