Round 12 - Coney Island Warriors vs West Coast Wonders at Van Cortlandt Park

This week we came up against the lolwonders again and indeed it was LOL as we smashed them for our 4th win in a row and a revival of #thestreak. We were fierce all over the ground and our accuracy was super, kicking 19 .6 with Packedlunch once again muscling his way to 4 goals, toxic kicking a sweet 4 being fed by Benwah who dominated in the ruck with 13 hitouts, 16 kicks and 15 handballs. Frankie put on a clinic with 14 kicks, 13 handballs 5 tackles and drawing 6 free kicks…Dapper once more showed why the whole world fears him with 11 bone crunching tackles that left the Wonders wondering WTF was going on. Jazny’s stats were solid as always with 14 kicks, 12 handballs and she even laid 2 delicate Elf tackles.

Round 13 - Las Vegas Bears vs Coney Island Warriors at The Stadium In The Sky

We were once more playing the Bears and with a spot cemented in the finals we let our guard down a bit and they smacked us. Frankie played like the champion that he is with 11 kicks, 10 tackles and 3 goals, he was far and away our best on ground and the umps thought so too, awarding him 5 free kicks. Dapper once again played the hard man with 6 crippling tackles and a goal, Jaz was solid with 2 goals, Vesty worked hard, PL got 4 in but none of that was enough this week and we just moved on quickly looking forward to the last 4 games..and finals!

Round 14 - Coney Island Warriors vs Gold City Royals at Van Cortlandt Park

Our nemesis the royals were our opponents in round 14, they were having a fantastic run and we very much wanted to stop that…which we did. Reggie played a fantastic game leading by example with 17 kicks, 9 marks, 13 handballs and a goal. He also laid a tackle and I think we all know whom that was against..
Benwah, Frankie, Jaz and Vesty all took on the game and dominated giving us a nice win and putting a big smile on our faces..and some goo.

Round 15 - Sin City Swamprats vs Coney Island Warriors @ Underground Stadium

We came up against the SpammyRats for the second time and it was a tight contest right till the end, a win here gave us a top 4 spot so we had a serious team drinking and pizza session and came away with the victory. It was a low scoring affair and Jazny and Reggie dominated the stats and Falc kicked 4 very important goals and PL kicked 3, the rest of the team doing little bits and pieces to get us there. Dapper laid another 6 brutal tackles.

This was Packedlunch and Freofalc’s 50th’s and it was very fitting that Falc kicked the winning goal!

This season there was an absolute stand out Warrior, his sharp wit, cutting posts and ability to fill vaginas with sand is legendary. We love him and are proud to call him a team mate and spiritual leader of this great club.
I speak of no other than Frankston Rover of course. Every week he shows up and finds something hilarious and generally honest to hit the opposition with and I don’t think in my time here I’ve ever seen him pwnd by anyone.

As for the #lolWonders, it's always great to see one of the competitions 'big clubs' in action. I'm sure the Wonders players will enjoy the experience. Maybe one day they can rejoin us as a benchmark of the competition.
Probably not this week though.

Round 16 - Dragons FFC v Coney Island Warriors @ Dragon Island

It was the second last game of the home and away season and we were sitting comfortably in the top 4 and looking forward to finals..we just needed to get these last 2 pesky games out of the way. Once again Dapper smashed the opposition with 7 tackles and a very handy 3 goals and Kabanna proved she’s a hot sausage adding another 3. Reggie, Vesty, Lunchy and Smoothy all kicked 2 and several other Wariors kicked a single..every goal helping us towards a good win in another tight game. No one really dominated with even stats right cross the board, showing that the Warriors play as a team and for each other.

Round 17 - Coney Island Warriors vs Roys FFC at Van Cortlandt Park

The last game of the round was against the lovable old Roys and love them we did, especially Falc.

• In a bit of an exhibition, I'm not sure that what Freofalcon did to MannumPower should be entirely legal. - 47m from 3 to 50.
• Neither having much reason to brag, it could be argued that Freofalcon had the better game against Reardo - although there was very little in it. - 1m from 98 to 99.
• Neither getting, near the ball much, Freofalcon's bum will be a bit sore after having it solidly kicked by Willo_. - 27m from 57 to 84.
Don't mind a sore bum after I pants those other two.

Jazny and Falc chipped in with 3 goals each and Benwah once again proved a match winner in the ruck.
The Warriors also had a stroke of luck due an error in the simming of one game we were propelled to 2nd on the ladder, and Dragons slipped into finals and Furies were out. It was a controversial but exciting end to the home and away season and we caused some delicious melting and some even more delicious drinking!

Second Qualifying Final: Coney Island Warriors vs Las Vegas Bears at Van Cortlandt Park


Freofalcon saved his best till last destroying the Bears with 7 goals, Packedlunch and David Schwarz adding another 5 each. Zackah also pulled out his best game for the season scoring a massive 131 DT points and Frankston Rover, Dapper and Reggie all had blinders, leading the Warriors to a huge Qualifying finals win over the Bears.
We all know what happened in the Prelim, no need to go there.
